STS Technical Services is hiring a Director of Risk Management in Purchase, New York.

Summary:

This position is responsible for: (i) recommending, structuring, implementing,  administering AAWW’s non-aviation risk management arrangements including insurance for property, cyber risk, auto, environmental liability, workers’ compensation, employment practices liability and crime; (ii) aviation risk management for Titan Aircraft Investments (TAI) including placement, administration of TAI’s separate aviation insurance coverages, review of TAI lease, purchase and vendor contracts from risk management standpoint.

Job Description:

  • Identify areas of risk exposure for AAWW, TAI and assess risk management options.
  • Consult with insurance brokers for strategizing to secure best insurance coverage at least cost.
  • Fulfill all insurance renewal requirements including assembling and analyzing exposure data, completing applications and meeting with brokers & insurers to obtain favorable proposals.
  • Prepare presentations for presenting recommendations to senior management.
  • Ensure all insurance renewals approved in accordance with authority limits.
  • Perform reconciliations of estimated premiums vs. actual premiums.
  • Work with Corp Accounting to ensure proper accounting of insurance premiums.
  • Create insurance budget and monitor actual spending vs budget on a monthly basis.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge and understanding of insurance policies to be able to advise business units on coverage’s, policy terms, conditions and exclusions.
  • Notify brokers of insurance claims, gather and submit supporting documentation, monitor claim progress for full and timely recovery.
  • Review contract agreement provisions related to indemnity, liability and insurance to ensure corporate interests are protected.
  • Oversee fulfillment of Insurance Certificate needs.
  • Assist Senior Director Risk Management in all matters of insurance covering both aviation and non-aviation risk management.
  • Maintain current on insurance developments, markets and best practices

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in risk management, finance, economics or allied discipline
  • MBA preferred
  • 10 years’ experience in a similar or related position
  • ARM, CPCU or professional license a plus
  • Strong communication, analytical and negotiating skills;
  • Airline-industry experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Able to work independently with little supervision, exhibit proactive initiative
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced multi-task environment, able to deliver under tight deadlines,
