STS Technical Services is hiring Human Resources Assistants in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin.

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Compensation & Benefits Manager, provides a wide variety of clerical and technical support services for the Human Resources department. Key responsibilities include providing support for HR front desk operations, supporting the pre-employment and staffing processes, supporting the HR back office and troubleshooting problems to meet employees’ needs. Unusual situations or problems are referred to a higher level position for advice and assistance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Work is varied in nature and successful candidates will have advanced skills in Microsoft Office, excellent oral and written communicate skills, demonstrate a high level of professionalism, exercise appropriate judgment and be able to multi task and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.

Responsible for providing support to the Receptionist area:

  • Professionally respond to incoming calls and onsite visitors including contacting appropriate personnel or department via paging system or Lync phone system.
  • Assist job applicants with application process.
  • Responsible for accepting, sorting and distributing mail and packages to appropriate departments.
  • Maintain receptionist and lobby areas in a positive and professional manner.

Provides recruiting support to our HRBP’s:

  • Coordinates phone screens, setting up interviews, scheduling drug screens and background checks, scheduling/coordinating new hire orientations.
  • Prepares and organizes materials for interviews and recruitment events.
  • Maintains the AAP logs by utilizing our online Applicant Tracking Software (ATS) and SAP.
  • Utilizes our ATS for job postings and provides basic assistance.

Provides administrative support to the Compensation & Benefits team:

  • Prepares memos, letters, presentations and other documents using Microsoft Office.
  • Develops, prepares and processes a variety of HR forms which may include data entry into our HR systems while ensuring accuracy of the data involved.
  • Maintains the integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality of HR files and records.
  • Assist with our annual benefit open enrollment process and provide guidance to employees regarding various questions during the year.
  • Responsible for accurately updating our company policies in our handbooks and other technology systems (intranet, SharePoint, etc.)
  • Actively promote and support the company’s Wellness program with all levels of the organization.


  • Performs all job functions is a safe manner and maintains safety awareness.
  • Reports known accidents, injuries and unsafe practices and/or conditions to supervisor.


Additional years of experience or education may be substituted for each other as determined by Human Resources. 

  • Associate Degree in Business, Human Resources or a related field.
  • A minimum of 1 year of administrative support experience in a fast-paced environment. Experience in a Human Resources department preferred.
  • Proven experience with Microsoft Office at an intermediate level.
  • Considerable knowledge of business English, spelling and punctuation.
  • Ability to professionally communicate and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to demonstrate strong organizational skills, prioritize work load and juggle multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast paced environment.
  • Must be able to maintain company and employee confidentiality at all times.

Physical Demands and/or Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to use a keyboard, calculator, and telephone. Frequent sitting, talking, hearing, and occasionally stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, lift (10 lbs.), and an ability to adjust vision for close vision work.  Up to 10% of time spent in manufacturing environments around industrial equipment.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
