STS Technical Services is hiring Maintenance Technicians (Multiple Skill Levels) in Franklin, Wisconsin.

Working Hours:

  • 1st Shift.
  • Overtime expected and required.

Maintenance Technician III Duties:

  • Perform skilled work in a variety of building trades.
  • Perform a full range of semi-skilled and skilled tasks involved in a variety of building maintenance, repair, and construction activities including those requiring rough and finished carpentry, plumbing, heating and cooling, electrical, mechanical, painting, and welding skills.
  • Safely drive and skillfully operate power equipment and hand tools involved in building maintenance, repair, and construction.
  • Maintain and repair a variety of tools and equipment.
  • Read and work from sketches, blueprints, schematics, or drawings
  • Ensure adherence to safe work practices and procedures.
  • Monitor and update HVAC control program
  • Maintain records of work performed

Maintenance Technician II Duties:

  • Possess all the necessary skills and abilities to perform the above functions
  • Mechanical proficiency in plant equipment including but not limited to Repak, Vemag, Weiler, Cryovac, Utravac, conveyors and intervention systems. Must be able to assemble and disassemble.
  • Perform parts change outs.

Maintenance Technician I Duties:

  • Possess all the necessary skills and abilities to perform the above functions
  • Must be able to troubleshoot all equipment, and facilitate repairs in a timely manner

General Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance workers perform inspections on all machinery needed throughout production and perform preventative maintenance functions in order to keep machinery running at optimal levels.
  • Install new plumbing: maintain, repair, and replace plumbing systems and fixtures such as faucets, drinking fountains, water heaters, water closets, urinals, water regulators, and pressure valves; repair boiler and boiler piping and pumps.
  • Maintain, repair, and replace electrical systems including light switches, outlets, interior and exterior light fixtures, computer lines, electrical panels, and card readers; replace light bulbs.
  • Install and repair door lock sets; rekey locks and padlocks; cut keys
  • Perform carpentry and trim and finish work; frame walls, doors, and windows; build remodel offices; replace doors and windows; assemble cabinets, shelving, and furniture; hang, tape and texture drywall.
  • Perform painting work; prepare ad paint or stain interiors, exteriors, and furniture of various material.
  • Performs welding, masonry, flooring, and general repair work on buildings and furniture
  • Operate heavy equipment as needed.

Basic Employment Requirements:

  • Knowledge of operations, services, and activities of a building maintenance, repair, and construction program.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, terminology, equipment and tools used in the maintenance, repair, and construction of building structures and systems including those used in performing rough and finished carpentry, plumbing, heating, electrical, mechanical, and painting work
  • Knowledge of operational characteristics of tools and equipment used in building maintenance activities
  • Knowledge of Proper procedures used in the maintenance and repair of power and hand tools.
  • Knowledge of pertinent federal, state, and local codes, laws and regulations including applicable building codes and ordinances.
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and standard safety practices.

Desired Bonus Qualifications:

  • Possession of a Journeyman’s card
  • Supervisory experience
  • Experience within food manufacturing a plus, especially with meat
  • Chemical experience

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

  • The Maintenance employee is frequently exposed to noise and a regular flow of people around the department room
  • A refrigerated environment and occasionally wet conditions.
  • Frequent lifting up to 25 lbs; occasional lifting, pushing or pulling up to 50 pounds.
  • Standing up to 8-10 hours daily.
  • Exposure to animal fat, grease and chemicals.
