STS Technical Services is hiring Maintenance Technicians in Rochester, New York.

Position Overview:

Our client located in Rochester, NY are adding a Direct Hired 2nd shift Maintenance Technician to their team. In this role you will conduct machine set-up, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance service. Additionally you will be performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks as assigned.


  • Assist other Technicians in the repair and maintenance of production equipment.
  • Complete daily and monthly PM’s.
  • Provide a timely, practical, and professional response to work orders, including the ability to communicate with production operators to understand and diagnose equipment issues.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot both mechanical and electrical issues using technical drawings. (blueprints and schematics)
  • Ability to use test equipment (multi-meter, laptop, micrometers, calipers, infrared guns, etc…) to aid in troubleshooting equipment problems.
  • Have a general knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Can troubleshoot PLC’s and their inputs/outputs. Programming of PLC’s is not required but a nice have.
  • Lubricate and clean machinery and support equipment to maintain housekeeping and preventive maintenance standards throughout the plant.
  • Maintains good housekeeping in the work area and maintenance shop.
  • Be able to coach in a positive manner machine operators on the proper way to operate equipment.
  • Participate in special projects and performs other duties as assigned


  • Minimum of one (1) year of demonstrated experience in the electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic applications.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and vocational maintenance training certificate preferred.
  • AC and DC drives knowledge.
  • Variable frequency drives (VFD’s) servo motors, servo drives and controls.
  • Be comfortable working with 480 volts or less.
  • General skills relating to the use of shop equipment such as drill presses, power tools, mill, and lathes.
  • Electro-Mechanical studies strongly preferred but not necessary.
  • Requires basic knowledge of computers and operating systems.
  • Requires physical ability to climb stairs, bend, sit, stand, walk, reach with arms, push, pull and use hands and fingers to feel and handle material for extended time frames.
  • Must have ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds repeatedly and regularly. Includes the ability to stoop, squat, crawl and kneel as needed.
  • Requires strong problem solving skills to assess product output relative to specifications.
  • Must have ability to multi-task and to identify and execute process improvements as needed.
