STS Technical Services is hiring Materials Continuous Improvement Technicians in Ridgeland, South Carolina.

Job Summary:

The Materials Continuous Improvement Technician assists to maintain efficiency and quality in the work setting through evaluating current business practices, looking for ways to improve productivity, reduce costs, and make the best use of the business’s resources. This position reports to the Inventory Manager.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Increase the effectiveness and efficiency of production processes through identifying opportunities for improvement to each function areas as well as coordination and communication between functional areas.
  • Implement inventory management processes through change process that enables maximum operational efficiency.
  • Monitor operations for quality standards and report inspection and test data. Inspects, tests, or measure materials for defects and deviations from specifications to determine root causes.
  • Documents plant layouts as it relates to production flow.
  • Provide training for all parties involved as it relates to the process improvement.
  • Recommend adjustments to the production process to obtain the desired quality.
  • Communicate effectively with department managers and employees on quality, inspection, and deviation reports

Minimum Requirements:

  • Associate degree in advanced technology or related field preferred, or a combination of production experience and education.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Proficient with computers and computer software including, word, excel, data entry and information processes.
  • Ability to read and understand technical documents, read devices to measure products, such as rulers, calipers, or gauges.
  • Excellent people manager, open to direction and collaborative work style with the commitment in getting the job done.
  • Ability to identify problems through analytical reasoning and resolve issues through creative thought processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative management style.
