Purchasing Managers

STS Technical Services is hiring Purchasing Managers in Madison, Wisconsin.

Position Overview:

We are currently recruiting for a Purchasing Manager in central Wisconsin. This is a direct-hire position for our client, a growing construction supply manufacturing company, and part of the company’s long-term plans for their Supply Chain department. STS is the exclusive provider of candidates for this position and we are seeking folks with the following experience:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Manage the purchasing and supply chain process for the company, ensuring that buyers are meeting performance standards and that all inventory control measures are in place;
• Analyze and implement improvements to the current commodity purchasing systems that will improve vendor relationships and lower the cost of doing business;
• Meet customer order schedules to make sure all customer orders ship on time;
• Collaborate with Inventory Control and Sales departments to develop metrics for gauging inventory needs and maintaining those levels throughout the year;
• Develop and implement supply chain management strategies to increase efficiency and speed, reducing process lead time;
• Ensure Purchasing department functions within company business management system;
• Collaborate with other departments to close operational gaps and audit requirements for material tracing;

Basic Qualifications:

• Seven or more years of purchasing experience in durable goods manufacturing, specifically with steel commodity buying;
• Prior experience managing purchasing staff;
• Experience managing inventory and supply chain across multiple manufacturing locations;
• Experience with cycle counts and other inventory control methods;
• Willingness to travel up to 25%;

Educational Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or related field.
