Position Overview:

STS Technical Services is actively seeking candidates for a Mechanic I role with our Fortune 500 Client in Oshkosh, Wisconsin! As a Service Mechanic, you’ll play a crucial role in diagnosing vehicle malfunctions, performing preventive maintenance, and repairing various types of heavy military transit and support vehicles. You will work closely with skilled mechanics, gaining hands-on experience in the field or at the operations garage.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your mechanical skills while contributing to the maintenance and repair of essential equipment in a brand-new, temperature-controlled facility.

Daily Responsibilities:

• Assist in diagnosing and repairing malfunctions in heavy wheeled vehicles.
• Develop proficiency in the removal and replacement of vehicle components.
• Learn and apply accurate diagnostic skills for effective repair or replacement of components.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and timely repairs to ensure proper vehicle function.
• Repair and adjust torsion arms, air bags, and suspension system components.
• Test, repair, and replace components of electrical and lighting systems under supervision.

Shifts:

• 1st Shift: Monday – Thursday, 6:30 AM to 4:00 PM; Friday, 6:30 AM to 10:30 AM.
• Note: This is the current regular schedule, but times are subject to change. Overtime may be mandated on Fridays and Saturdays.

Training and/or Education:

• High school diploma/GED required.
• Relevant basic mechanical background in automotive or heavy equipment.
