Aircraft Interior Upholstery Technician Jobs

STS Technical Services is hiring Aircraft Interior Upholstery Technicians in Grand Junction, Colorado to join a team supporting world-class business jet interiors. In this role, you will be responsible for the repair, refurbishment, fabrication, and reinstallation of upholstered components inside luxury aircraft cabins. If you have hands-on experience with seat upholstery, panel work, or high-end RV and yacht interiors, this is your opportunity to apply your craft in aviation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform basic to advanced foam build-ups, patterning, and sewing of seat parts and other interior items
  • Remove and reinstall seats, panels, and interior soft goods
  • Disassemble, clean, repair, and modify interior components as needed
  • Complete daily turnover sheets and maintain detailed documentation
  • Maintain and repair shop tools, equipment, and facility areas
  • Follow FAA, OSHA, and company safety guidelines
  • Navigate electronic manuals, training platforms, and maintenance databases
  • Ensure a clean, organized, and professional work environment
  • Communicate effectively with team leaders, supervisors, and peers
  • Work independently or as part of a team depending on project scope
  • Support major modification projects as required

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in aircraft interior upholstery preferred
  • Experience working on corporate jets, high-end RVs, or yacht interiors strongly considered
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license and/or passport preferred but not required
  • Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and customer-oriented mindset
  • Basic computer literacy

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Routine standing, walking, bending, squatting, and sitting
  • Repetitive motion with hands and arms with focus on fine motor skills
  • Must be able to climb ladders and stairs, and work in tight spaces

Work Environment:

  • Work performed in a hangar or interior shop environment
  • Occasional tasks completed outdoors on the ramp
  • Varied positions inside and around aircraft
  • Use of sewing machines, hand tools, and electric power tools required
  • Occasional use of computers and standard office equipment
