Assemblers

STS Technical Services is hiring Assemblers in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania.

This is an on-site manufacturing role built for people who can follow instructions, work safely, use tools correctly and keep production moving. You will assemble equipment using mechanical, electrical and manual tools while supporting quality, safety and daily production goals.

Job Summary

Assemblers are responsible for safely assembling equipment by following detailed instructions from Supervisors and Group Leaders. Assemblies vary in size and product type and require the use of mechanical, electrical and manual tools.

Responsibilities

• Assemble parts, wires, hoses and hydraulics using power tools and manual techniques.
• Install product accessories such as decals, mud flaps, cameras and lights.
• Safely operate an overhead crane to position parts.
• Use hand and pneumatic tools, including wrenches, hammers and torque guns, with accuracy.
• Measure accurately using tools such as tape measures.
• Drill and tap holes for wires, hoses and small components.
• Identify required options from schematics, blueprints and Standard Work Instructions.
• Lift and stack subassemblies and parts, up to 35 lbs solo and team lift up to 60 lbs.
• Cross-train and work in multiple assembly areas as needed.
• Follow written and verbal instructions precisely.
• Maintain attention to detail to meet quality standards.
• Keep a clean, safe work area in compliance with safety rules and 6S standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Ability and willingness to work overtime as needed, including evenings, weekends and holidays, to meet business and production demands.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance, in person and on site.

Standout Qualifications

• 6+ months of experience in the manufacturing or general labor industry.

Working Conditions

• This position is based in a manufacturing or production environment and may involve exposure to loud noise, dust, moving machinery or temperature fluctuations.
• The role may require standing for extended periods, repetitive motions, lifting/carrying up to 35 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds and up to 30 pounds sustained, bending, kneeling, climbing or using tools and equipment.
• Proper personal protective equipment, PPE, must be worn when required.
• Visual and auditory acuity are needed for safe equipment operation and effective communication in a busy workspace.
