STS Line Maintenance

STS Line Maintenance is hiring an MRO Materials Specialist in Romulus, Michigan. This role supports the Expendable Cabin Materials team by coordinating the movement of available material for thru-flight opportunities, placing purchase orders, following up with vendors and helping ensure needed cabin materials are ordered, tracked and available.
If you have logistics experience, SAP knowledge and strong customer service skills, this is an opportunity to support critical MRO materials operations with STS Line Maintenance.
Position Overview
The MRO Materials Specialist will support material movement, purchase order follow-up, vendor communication, system updates, order expediting and inventory integrity. This position will also monitor NEF material needs, assist with cabin material forecasts and support additional projects as assigned by management.
Job Responsibilities
- Support the Expendable Cabin Materials team by coordinating movement of available material for thru-flight opportunities
- Place purchase orders
- Follow up with vendors on delivery dates for existing purchase orders
- Update internal systems
- Use internal tools to expedite orders through receiving
- Monitor the NEF site and help ensure adequate NEF material is on order
- Assist with additional projects as assigned by management
- Use provided reports and SAP to identify parts in need of review
- Use SAP, vendor portals and vendor communication to follow up on delivery dates
- Update delivery information in relevant tools
- For parts in the delivery process, update R&T or CSR tools to proactively expedite material through the system
- During assigned weekend day, provide coverage to work cabin material forecast
- Review and ship available material
- Document shortages for material not available in the system
- Work with IAs and Leads on blocked invoices and rejections to expedite clearance
- Work with the Materials Manager on projects as necessary
- Apply critical thinking and interpersonal skills that encourage active listening
- Communicate with peers and multiple levels of departmental, divisional and executive leadership
- Support inventory control and integrity
- Process parts data integrity issues, including material master changes
- Correct data integrity issues in SAP
- Research root cause and provide feedback to address root cause
- Perform routine duties including parts ordering, receiving, binning, shipping, packaging and inventory control
Qualifications
- Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Valid driver’s license required
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including 1 weekend day
- Occasional travel may be required
- Overtime may be required
- Logistics experience preferred
- SAP profile experience preferred
- Intermediate Excel knowledge is a plus
- Must have a friendly disposition when working with internal and external customers
- Must be customer focused
Pay
- $20 to $22 per hour based on previous experience
- Yearly raises available upon evaluation
