Test Site Engineer (Aberdeen)

STS Technical Services is hiring a Test Site Engineer in Aberdeen, Maryland.

This role provides onsite technical support for vehicle testing on the JLTV Family of Vehicles. The Test Site Engineer will work directly with Field Service Representatives and unit personnel to support training, diagnostics, troubleshooting, inspections, and maintenance activities across active test environments.

This position is suited for an engineer with strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, vehicle testing experience, and the ability to help keep military vehicles fully mission capable throughout testing operations.

• Hiring Note: Candidates must currently be authorized to work in the United States and must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

Position Summary

The Test Site Engineer will provide onsite technical support for testing involving the JLTV Family of Vehicles.

This position will co-lead Field Service Representatives in supporting assigned units through technical training, vehicle inspections, diagnostics, troubleshooting, corrective maintenance, and testing activities. The goal is to ensure each vehicle remains fully mission capable and meets applicable contract and testing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to Field Service Representatives
• Co-lead efforts supporting assigned units with training, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and maintenance
• Conduct technical inspections of JLTV vehicles and related systems
• Perform Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults
• Repair worn, damaged, or malfunctioning vehicle components
• Support the implementation of Engineering Change Proposals
• Complete corrective maintenance to help ensure vehicles meet 10/20 standards
• Participate in Performance Testing
• Support Reliability Qualification Testing in accordance with JLTV contract requirements
• Provide technical guidance to Field Service Representatives in various testing environments
• Follow applicable technical manuals, testing procedures, and maintenance instructions
• Help ensure all testing and maintenance activities comply with established standards

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
• Experience supporting vehicle testing
• Experience working with the JLTV Family of Vehicles
• Proficiency in diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
• Ability to complete mechanical and electrical repairs
• Knowledge of Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services
• Ability to read and follow technical manuals and maintenance instructions
• Ability to co-lead and provide guidance to Field Service Representatives
• Familiarity with Engineering Change Proposals
• Understanding of vehicle testing standards and compliance requirements
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting first article requirements
• Experience with vehicle performance testing
• Experience with Reliability Qualification Testing

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in a variety of vehicle test site environments
• Ability to perform physical tasks required to support vehicle inspections, diagnostics, and maintenance activities
