STS Technical Services is hiring an Industrial Paint Supervisor for a second-shift opportunity in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

This position supports a growing manufacturing company and is responsible for leading daily production activities, coordinating employees, maintaining workflow and ensuring industrial painting operations meet safety, quality and scheduling requirements.

The ideal candidate will bring hands-on manufacturing leadership experience, strong problem-solving skills and the ability to keep production moving in a fast-paced environment.

Position Overview

The Industrial Paint Supervisor will work closely with the Production Manager to coordinate second-shift production activities and ensure assigned work is completed safely, accurately and on schedule.

This role requires strong floor leadership, clear communication and the ability to adjust staffing and workflow as production needs change. The selected candidate will delegate assignments, monitor quality, troubleshoot production issues, train employees and help ensure equipment and materials are used effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Production Manager to meet production goals
  • Coordinate daily activities across assigned production departments
  • Delegate job responsibilities to appropriate second-shift personnel
  • Interpret specifications, blueprints and job orders for production employees
  • Plan and organize work assignments to meet production schedules
  • Maintain production workflow between employees and departments
  • Monitor production quality and make adjustments when necessary
  • Track changes to the production schedule and modify workflow accordingly
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production problems as they occur
  • Motivate team members to complete assignments accurately and on time
  • Ensure personnel are used effectively across assigned production areas
  • Train new production employees and support their development
  • Inspect production equipment to ensure it remains in proper working condition
  • Promote safe work practices throughout the shift
  • Monitor the use of raw materials and help reduce waste
  • Communicate schedules, changes and job-related information across the organization
  • Inspect products and equipment for defects or malfunctions
  • Escalate quality, safety or production concerns when required

Qualifications

  • Three to five years of manufacturing experience
  • Minimum of two years of supervisory experience
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Ability to work effectively and safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lead, motivate and coordinate production employees
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, procedure manuals, blueprints and job documentation
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations using whole numbers, fractions and decimals
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to adjust priorities based on changing production demands
  • Ability to work 40 to 50 hours per week on second shift

Preferred Qualifications

  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification
  • Welding experience
  • Project management experience
  • Industrial painting or coating operations experience
  • Experience supervising multiple production work areas

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to bend, twist and stoop
  • Ability to climb ladders
  • Ability to remain active throughout the production shift
