Aircraft Interior Painter / Prepper

Position Overview

Reporting to the Paint Workshop Manager, the Aircraft Interior Painter / Prepper is responsible for preparing, painting, and finishing aircraft interior components to the highest industry standards.

You will work with advanced materials, follow strict technical documentation, and ensure every surface meets both regulatory and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure all materials, parts, tools, equipment, and documentation are prepared at the start of each shift
• Perform paint preparation to the highest standards
• Interpret and apply the latest revision drawings, including proper masking procedures
• Apply epoxy and filler primers as required
• Apply basecoats and topcoats in accordance with work instruction sheets
• Perform paint thickness measurements (wet and dry) and adhesion checks, recording all required data
• Carry out all work in compliance with company, health and safety, and airport procedures
• Maintain a Foreign Object Debris (FOD)-free work environment before, during, and after tasks
• Demonstrate professionalism when interacting with customers and team members
• Stay current with Technical Notices, Quality Notices, and relevant updates
• Participate in training programs to enhance skills and performance
• Follow the Safety & Quality Management Plan (SQMP) and support workplace safety initiatives
• Maintain tools, equipment, and workspace in a clean, safe, and serviceable condition

Skills and Experience

• Strong background in auto body repair and painting or similar technical training
• Experience working with fiberglass and composite fill and finishing techniques
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in aircraft painting and finishing
• Proven experience in both aircraft interior and exterior paint applications
• Ability to read, interpret, and work from engineering drawings
• Strong ability to follow verbal and written instructions
• Basic English language skills, both written and spoken
• Ability to manage workload independently with minimal supervision
• Hands-on mindset with strong problem-solving ability
