STS Technical Services is hiring A&P Mechanics to join the team in Pompano Beach, Florida. In this role, you’ll perform maintenance, inspections, and repairs on TBM and Kodiak aircraft at a certified Part 145 Repair Station. Position Overview
As an A&P Mechanic, you’ll be responsible for maintaining airframe, powerplant, and propeller systems in accordance with FAA regulations and manufacturer specifications. You’ll work with a skilled team, interpreting technical data, performing system diagnostics, and ensuring the safe and reliable operation of aircraft fleet.
Key Responsibilities
- Able to use FAA-approved data, i.e., IPC, AMM, OHM, CMM, etc., proficiently.
- Performs airframe, powerplant, and propeller repairs and modifications required to meet company and FAA requirements
- Removal and disassembly of defective parts; assembly and installation of replacement parts; and testing aircraft systems
- Performs routine inspections and troubleshooting, including airframe structures, engines, and aircraft systems, using approved or accepted data issued by the manufacturer or FAA
- Operates all power tools and equipment necessary to accomplish job assignment
- Completes all required maintenance records as stated in Repair Station and Quality Control Manuals
- Accurately records time worked on aircraft work order
- Interprets technical manuals, drawings and blueprints
- Demonstrates excellent communication skills, professionalism, and a positive customer service attitude without compromising quality
- Presents a clean and neat work area to customers – facility cleanliness and general housekeeping
- Performs other aircraft maintenance work as required
- Tows and parks aircraft
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Basic shop upkeep (Sweeping, mopping, cleaning, etc.).
- Lifting/moving items 50lbs.
- Must be able to sit, stand, bend, crouch, kneel, and walk for extended periods.
- Must be able to climb and work from ladders, work stands, and other heights.
- Must be able to work with one or both hands extended overhead.
- The ability to travel as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
- Experience with TBM aircraft, preferred.
- 5+ years of hands-on aircraft maintenance experience with previous work with single-engine turboprop aircraft
- Familiarity with PT6 engines is a strong advantage
- Must have an FAA Airframe & Powerplant certificate.
- Basic computer skills are required.
- Ability to read, write, and understand the English language
- Must have own tools.
- Must be eligible to work legally in the US.
- Valid US Driver’s License.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen & background check.
