Aircraft Sheet Metal Mechanic (MS Project)

STS Technical Services is hiring an Aircraft Sheet Metal Mechanic in Columbus, Mississippi, for a short-term helicopter maintenance and modification project.

This 3- to 6-month assignment is focused on structural inspection, repair, fabrication, riveting, bonding and aircraft modification work involving helicopter fuselages, tail booms and cowlings.

Position Overview

The Aircraft Sheet Metal Mechanic will inspect helicopter structures, identify structural discrepancies and complete approved repairs and modifications using technical publications, maintenance data and appropriate tooling.

This position requires careful attention to structural condition, repair requirements and documentation while supporting safe, compliant helicopter maintenance operations.

Responsibilities

• Inspect helicopter fuselages for cracks, corrosion, separation and other structural discrepancies
• Inspect tail booms and cowlings for structural damage or deterioration
• Evaluate identified discrepancies and determine required repairs
• Determine appropriate materials and repair procedures using approved technical publications and data
• Identify and order replacement parts as required
• Perform structural modifications to accommodate special equipment and mission requirements
• Fabricate structural repair components
• Install structural repairs using approved maintenance data
• Use appropriate hand tools and power tools during fabrication and repair work
• Perform riveting operations in accordance with approved technical data
• Perform bonding operations in accordance with approved technical data
• Complete required aircraft maintenance documentation
• Enter required information into Ramco
• Maintain accurate aircraft maintenance log entries
• Provide technical guidance and support to uncertified technicians
• Support and participate in company Safety Management System activities
• Follow all company Health, Safety & Environmental policies and procedures
