STS Technical Services is seeking a Manager of Fleet Reliability Engineering to lead reliability, configuration control, and engineering documentation functions for a commercial airline operation in Monterrey, Mexico.
This is a leadership role with real weight. You are responsible for how the fleet performs. Delays, repeat failures, data integrity issues. Those land here.
You will drive reliability strategy, oversee engineering documentation, and ensure configuration accuracy across the fleet. The expectation is not maintenance of the status quo. It is measurable improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead fleet reliability initiatives including trend analysis, root cause investigations, and corrective action development
- Drive reliability programs from concept through execution, including business case development and stakeholder alignment
- Manage recurring reliability reporting, including fleet performance metrics and program effectiveness
- Direct engineering analysis related to aircraft systems, components, and technical data
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of fleet configuration records within maintenance and engineering systems
- Oversee and approve engineering documentation, including:
- Engineering Authorizations
- Engineering Orders
- Fleet Configuration Documents
- Engineering specifications and drawings
- Publication Change Requests
- Maintain compliance with FAA regulations and internal standards
- Lead audits of configuration data and engineering records to ensure alignment with actual fleet status
- Provide technical support for Aircraft on Ground events and operational disruptions
- Coordinate with Maintenance, Planning, Supply Chain, OEMs, vendors, and lessors
- Ensure full traceability of aircraft components and configuration changes
- Drive continuous improvement across engineering processes, data quality, and system accuracy
Leadership Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team that may include:
- Reliability Engineers
- Configuration Engineers
- Analysts and Supervisors
- Set team priorities, workflows, and performance expectations
- Provide technical guidance, training, and development support
- Hold the team accountable to performance, accuracy, and execution standards
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Aviation Technology, or related field preferred
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant License may be considered in lieu of degree with relevant experience
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience in a Part 121 airline technical services, engineering, or maintenance environment
- Prior leadership or management experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of aircraft systems, maintenance programs, and engineering processes
Technical Expertise
- Strong understanding of 14 CFR regulations
- Experience working with Airworthiness Directives and Service Bulletins
- Deep knowledge of aircraft configuration control and reliability programs
- Experience with maintenance and engineering systems such as FMIS or similar platforms
- Strong technical writing and documentation capabilities

- Advanced analytical and problem-solving ability
- Ability to interpret complex technical and regulatory data
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- High attention to detail and organizational discipline
- Ability to make decisions in time-sensitive operational environments
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Work Environment

- Occasional extended hours or weekend support as required
