Aircraft Structures Technician (Fixed Term, 18 Months)

STS Aviation Services is hiring an Aircraft Structures Technician in Birmingham, United Kingdom.

Position Summary:

STS Aviation Services UK is a leading MRO provider. We have an opportunity for an experienced Structures Technician to join our high-profile bespoke aircraft modification programme, converting Boeing 737 NG aircraft into the E-7 Wedgetail. “The worlds most advanced, capable and reliable Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C0) platform.

Duties & Responsibilities:

An in-depth Structures role that will be both challenging and rewarding. Major structural disassembly, modification and rebuild. All aspects of major structural modifications to include but not limited to:

• Removal of major structural sections, whilst stress jacked.
• Working to fine tolerances and high standards.
• Upholding high standards of housekeeping.
• Adhering to company and manufacturers procedures.
• Implementing modifications from drawings and procedures.

Skills & Experience:

• Completed aircraft engineering apprenticeship, production or Live aircraft.
• Minimum of 5 years live aircraft and or production (structures) experience.
• Experience implementing large modifications.
• Excellent knowledge of reading manufacturers drawings and SRMs.
• Excellent hand skills.
• Reliable.
• Adaptable.
• Takes full ownership of his/hers work.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Good Organisational skills.
• Good Communicator.
• Great team player
• Knowledge of MS Office applications.
• Eligible to work and live in the UK.
• Subject to UK security Vetting.
