Client Summary:

TICO, a leader in equipment logistics solutions since 1946, operates across the Southeast and central United States. With over 2,000 Jockey Trucks/Terminal Tractors and more than 1,300 specialty trailers, TICO is currently seeking a skilled Trailer Mechanic for our Savannah, Georgia facility.

Job Overview:

As a Trailer Mechanic at TICO, you will perform a variety of repairs and preventive maintenance tasks on trailers to ensure our fleet operates safely and efficiently.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine, diagnostic, and repair inspections on trailers, identifying any damage and notifying supervisors of potentially dangerous equipment and the corrective actions taken.
  • Adhere to all industry safety norms and quality control measures during work processes.
  • Regularly service and maintain equipment, documenting all repairs in our maintenance software system.
  • Maintain and repair various trailer components including air brake systems, suspension, landing gear, foundation brakes, electrical systems, coupler systems, decking, and understructure.
  • Execute weld repairs in various positions including flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead.
  • Perform minor repairs on terminal tractors and test drive equipment to ensure proper functioning.
  • Assist other mechanics and maintain compliance with company and agency policies/procedures, ensuring a clean and safe work environment.
  • Complete necessary paperwork using fleet maintenance software to document parts usage and repair times.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Ability to obtain a TWIC card; forklift operator certification is preferred.
  • Experience in fleet maintenance and preventive measures.
  • Skilled in welding and capable of performing repairs in multiple positions.
