Maintenance Utility Employee

STS Line Maintenance is hiring a Maintenance Utility Employee in Dallas / Fort Worth, Texas. This is a part-time, on-call, seasonal position supporting aircraft maintenance operations at DFW Airport.

This entry-level role is ideal for someone who lives near the airport, has an open and flexible schedule, responds quickly when called, and takes customer service seriously. The Maintenance Utility Employee will primarily escort customer personnel within secure airport areas and assist STS aircraft maintenance technicians as needed.

Position Summary

The Maintenance Utility Employee supports STS Line Maintenance operations at DFW Airport by escorting customer personnel to and from aircraft, remaining with them while maintenance work is performed, and assisting with aircraft parts, equipment and maintenance-related support when requested.

This role supports escort activity for a winter charter contract and requires a dependable, safety-conscious person who can work in a 24/7/365 airport environment. Candidates must be willing and able to work any assigned shift, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Job Responsibilities

• Escort customer personnel within secure airport areas
• Pick up customer personnel and transport them to their aircraft
• Remain with customer personnel at all times during their visit
• Support customer needs while on site
• Assist STS aircraft maintenance technicians with aircraft maintenance tasks
• Retrieve and deliver aircraft parts and equipment when requested by STS customers
• Support escort-only activity for the winter charter contract
• Work safely and professionally on the airport ramp
• Follow all airport, customer and company procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Station Manager

Qualifications

• GED required
• Minimum age of 21 required
• Valid driver’s license required
• Clean driving record required
• No MVR issues within the past 3 years
• Must have reliable transportation to travel from residence to work
• Must pass a criminal background check
• Must be able to obtain an airport SIDA badge with driving privileges
• Must be able to obtain a Customs Seal
• Must be safety conscious at all times
• Must be a self-starter
• Excellent communication skills required
• Must be able to speak and understand English
• Must have a flexible schedule and be willing to work when called
• Must be authorized to work in the United States

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

Work is conducted mostly outdoors on the airport ramp in all weather conditions. This role operates in a 24/7/365 airport environment and may require work during days, nights, weekends and holidays.

Physical Demands

• Must be able to talk and hear in English

• Must be able to climb up and down stairs
• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
• Must be able to use hands and arms to lift, handle or feel
• Must be able to reach with hands and arms
• Must be able to work safely on an active airport ramp

Expected Hours of Work

This is a part-time, on-call position. The station operates in a 24/7/365 environment, and candidates must be willing to work any assigned shift, including weekends and holidays.

When called into work, a minimum of 4 hours will be paid for services rendered.

No travel is required.
