Production Assistant

STS Aviation Services is hiring a Production Assistant in Manchester, United Kingdom. This is a 9-month fixed-term contract supporting the Planning department within Base Maintenance.

The Production Assistant will be responsible for controlling, tracking, reviewing, and maintaining maintenance documentation and labour bookings. This role plays an important part in supporting Part 145 compliance, airworthiness records, work pack integrity, cost control, and production performance.

Role Purpose

The Production Assistant is responsible for the control, integrity, and compliance of all maintenance documentation and labour bookings within Base Maintenance.

This role ensures accurate work pack management, regular labour hours reconciliation, and high-quality maintenance records to support airworthiness, cost control, and production performance.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the work pack issued by Planning
• Control and track all task cards and work pack-related forms
• Manage task card returns, ensuring Part 145 compliance and audit readiness
• Control document revisions and digital archiving
• Review and scan shift handovers
• Report poor-quality shift handovers
• Reconcile Acumatica vs Kronos labour bookings
• Communicate and correct time discrepancies, including non-productive and productive overbookings
• Escalate genuine overruns to Commercial for customer sign-off
• Coordinate responses to customer queries

Skills & Experience

• Experience in a Part 145 MRO environment
• Knowledge of work packs and airworthiness records
• Experience with ERP systems, including Acumatica
• Experience with time systems, including Kronos
• High attention to detail
• Strong communication skills
• Strong coordination skills
• Ability to support documentation control, labour reconciliation, and production administration in a base maintenance environment

Part 145 Training Requirements

All company-mandated training is required, including:

• Initial Human Factors
• Initial SFAR Phase 1 and 2
• Initial EWIS Group 5
• ETOPS
• RVSM
• Competency Assessment
• Continuation Training
