STS Technical Services is hiring Traveling Field Service Representatives to provide maintenance, troubleshooting and training support for military vehicles across the United States and abroad.
This is a 100% travel position supporting up to 22 fielding site locations annually. Field Service Representatives will work directly with military customers to diagnose and repair vehicle systems, support equipment retrofits and provide instruction on vehicle operation, maintenance and parts requirements.
Position Overview
The Traveling Field Service Representative provides hands-on mechanical support for military wheeled vehicles at domestic and international field locations.
This role includes troubleshooting powertrain, cooling, electrical charging, suspension, heating and ventilation, steering and integrated vehicle systems. The FSR will also provide orientation and instruction to operators and maintenance personnel while supporting retrofit, warranty and parts-related activities.
Responsibilities
- Provide mechanic-based field support to military customers within assigned regions
- Diagnose, repair and service defense light-wheeled vehicles
- Troubleshoot vehicle powertrain systems
- Diagnose cooling system issues
- Troubleshoot electrical charging systems
- Support suspension system diagnostics and repair
- Troubleshoot heating and ventilation systems
- Diagnose steering system issues
- Support integrated vehicle systems and ancillary equipment
- Coordinate with customers and internal employees to expedite service and parts
- Anticipate and manage customer support needs
- Develop recommended parts stocking requirements for upcoming field and maintenance operations
- Provide instruction to vehicle operators and maintainers
- Train personnel on proper vehicle operation
- Provide guidance on maintenance and repair procedures
- Support equipment retrofit activities at military installations
- Execute domestic and international defense field service assignments
- Support defense warranty administration processes
- Maintain a high level of customer support throughout each assignment
Qualifications
- Minimum of five years of mechanical experience working with heavy or light wheeled military vehicles
- Five to 10 years of military vehicle mechanical experience preferred
- Ability to travel worldwide and remain away from home 100% of the time
- Ability to obtain a minimum NACI-level security clearance
- Active U.S. passport book valid for at least five years
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work directly with military customers in field environments
- Ability to provide technical instruction related to vehicle operation and maintenance

- ROGUE experience
- STRYKER experience
- Experience with other military wheeled vehicles
- Active Class A or Class B CDL with air brake endorsement
- Degree in vehicle service repair
- Degree in heavy equipment technology
- Degree in diesel technology
