
STS Engineering Solutions is hiring an Aircraft Maintenance Programs Compliance Specialist for a remote opportunity supporting airline maintenance programme accuracy, publication and regulatory compliance.
This position is responsible for auditing the application of maintenance programme requirements across aircraft and assemblies, validating compliance with approved technical requirements and ensuring programme revisions are accurately incorporated into FMIS and related systems.
The ideal candidate will have experience supporting maintenance programmes in a 14 CFR Part 121 environment, strong technical writing and computer skills, and detailed knowledge of aircraft maintenance planning documents and tracking systems.
Position Overview
The Aircraft Maintenance Programs Compliance Specialist provides oversight of an airline’s maintenance programme publication, accuracy and compliance.
This role monitors the correct application of maintenance requirements, reviews programme changes, validates regulatory adherence and supports the resolution of discrepancies involving maintenance documentation, tasks and tracking systems.
The position also reviews existing processes and recommends updates that improve compliance, efficiency and forecasting accuracy.
Maintenance Programme Responsibilities
- Review all maintenance programme changes to ensure information is transferred correctly from the published programme into FMIS
- Monitor the application of maintenance programmes to newly received aircraft and assemblies
- Ensure applicable limitations and maintenance requirements are complete and accurate
- Review, approve and assist with the release of changes to maintenance programme tasks
- Review, approve and assist with FMIS changes required to align with the approved maintenance programme
- Review the status of maintenance programme tasks for each aircraft and assembly
- Validate the continued application of maintenance requirements over time
- Monitor maintenance programme activities and report deviations to the appropriate stakeholders
- Assist with resolving discrepancies identified by internal teams and other stakeholders
Regulatory and Technical Compliance
- Review and validate compliance with Maintenance Planning Document requirements
- Review Airworthiness Limitation Sections during revisions to customised maintenance programmes
- Validate Maintenance Review Board Report requirements
- Monitor processes and procedures for compliance with company and regulatory requirements
- Recommend process and procedure updates that improve compliance and efficiency
- Help identify maintenance tasks that may be escalated, de-escalated or removed from the programme when appropriate
- Support accurate programme forecasting within FMIS
Systems and Digital Tools
- Implement and maintain digital tools that provide real-time feedback on maintenance programme application
- Support accurate and compliant maintenance forecasting
- Modify and authorise controls and tasks within FMIS
- Maintain information across online maintenance planning and tracking systems
- Use Microsoft Office programmes, web-based applications and electronic document systems
- File and maintain electronic documents using SharePoint and shared network drives
Documentation and Change Control
- Process and publish Publication Change Requests
- Process and publish Task Card Change Requests
- Modify maintenance documentation through approved change processes
- Assist with revisions to company manuals
- Support revisions to the Time Controlled Index
- Support updates to maintenance programme standard operating procedures
- Maintain clear and accurate technical documentation
Training and Additional Responsibilities
- Maintain familiarity with the training requirements defined in Section 100.03 Maintenance Training for Maintenance Organization Personnel
- Ensure required training remains current before performing assigned functions
- Comply with applicable non-disclosure agreements and confidentiality policies
- Perform other duties reasonably requested by the Manager
Authority
The Aircraft Maintenance Programs Compliance Specialist has the authority to:
- Modify and authorise FMIS controls and tasks
- Process and publish Publication Change Requests
- Process and publish Task Card Change Requests
- Assist with revisions to company manuals, including TCI Volume 1, TCI Volume 2 and the Maintenance Programme SOP
Required Qualifications
- At least three years of maintenance programmes experience in a 14 CFR Part 121 environment
- At least three years of experience using online maintenance planning and tracking systems
- Familiarity with Maintenance Planning Documents
- Familiarity with Airworthiness Limitation Sections
- Familiarity with Maintenance Review Board Reports
- Knowledge of Time Controlled Index requirements
- Familiarity with Aircraft Maintenance Manuals
- Familiarity with Illustrated Parts Catalogues
- Familiarity with Component Maintenance Manuals
- Knowledge of maintenance intervals and heavy checks
- Familiarity with Airbus family aircraft
- Knowledge of MSG-3 maintenance programme development
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong technical writing skills
- Strong computer skills
- Ability to read, write and speak English fluently
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
- Ability to produce accurate and high-quality work
- Willingness to comply with confidentiality policies and non-disclosure agreements
Preferred Qualifications
- At least three years of experience using TRAX, AMOS or both
- Associate degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Aviation Technology or a related field
- A relevant combination of education and experience may be considered in place of a degree
- Valid FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings and equivalent experience may be accepted in place of a degree
Work Requirements
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends when required for in-service issue resolution or project completion
- Ability to sit and work at a computer for up to 10 hours per day
- Ability and willingness to travel within or to the United States as required
