STS Technical Services is hiring Aircraft Painters in Melbourne, Florida.

Position Overview:

The Aircraft Painter is in charge of aircraft and its sub assemblies painting and sealing process including surface preparation, masking, and chemicals handling.  May include limited duties of paint and sealant application.

Job Duties:

  • Prepare surfaces to be painted or sealed as requested by the working instructions using abrasives, solvents, and brushes.
  • Installs masking for strips or other aircraft painting detail.
  • May perform sealant application assuring compliance with technical and quality requirements.
  • May assist with application or installation of logos, symbols, or designs on painted surfaces, according to blueprint specifications, using measuring instruments, stencils, and patterns.
  • Ensures the use of appropriate technical references and tools in performing paint and sealing duties.
  • Perform cleaning and maintenance of all currently used painting or sealing equipment.
  • Sets up ladders, and scaffolding according to regulations and aircraft requirement.
  • Ensures all Federal and local environmental and OSHA/TOSHA regulations are complied with.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Generally 1-3 years of related and recent experience in aeronautical environment.
  • High School or GED familiar
  • Knowledge of preparation and painting of aircraft, support equipment, and allied components.
  • Safety procedures for Chemicals handling.
  • Knowledge of blueprints and painting diagrams.
  • Strong ability on paint spraying
  • Understand technical management and quality assurance procedures.
  • Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including, OSHA, EPA, State, and Federal regulations.
  • Must be able to be respirator qualified.

  • Ability to work flexible hours and different shifts if required
  • Employees will be subject to the random drug and alcohol testing under FAA regulations

STS Technical Services is hiring Aircraft Painters in Ft. Pierce, Florida. This is a contract opportunity supporting full teardown and rebuild projects on Twin Otter aircraft, with strong potential to transition into a direct hire role based on performance and business needs.

Position Overview

The Aircraft Painter is responsible for performing complete aircraft painting processes from surface preparation through final finish. This role supports full airframe rebuild programs and requires strong attention to detail and adherence to quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform complete aircraft painting processes from prep through final finish
  • Sand, clean, and prepare aircraft surfaces for paint application
  • Mask and protect components to ensure precise paint lines and coverage
  • Mix and apply primers, topcoats, and specialty coatings
  • Operate HVLP (High Volume Low Pressure) spray equipment
  • Inspect finished work to ensure quality, consistency, and compliance with specifications
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in aircraft painting from prep to finish required
  • Strong knowledge of sanding, surface preparation, masking, and finishing techniques
  • Hands-on experience with HVLP paint sprayers required
  • Ability to read and follow technical instructions and paint specifications
  • High attention to detail and quality standards

Preferred Background

  • Aircraft painting experience strongly preferred
  • Candidates with experience in the following industries will be considered:
    • Marine (boats)

Position Overview:

We are looking for 4–6 skilled Aircraft Painters who take pride in their craft and are ready to jump into a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment. Candidates must be experienced in painting corporate aircraft and capable of performing the full paint process, including prep, masking, base coat, final coat, and finishing.

Job Duties:

  • Perform all phases of the aircraft paint process from surface preparation to final finish
  • Work with primers, topcoats, and specialty finishes as required
  • Ensure proper masking, taping, and sanding techniques are followed
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment
  • Execute layout tasks for striping and complex designs (if applicable)

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience painting corporate aircraft is required
  • Must be comfortable with full-cycle paint work from prep to final application
  • Experience with layout and striping is highly desirable
