STS Technical Services is hiring experienced Aircraft Quality Inspectors in Tucson, Arizona. This is a critical position responsible for ensuring all aircraft maintenance meets the highest regulatory and safety standards. If you’re a licensed A&P professional with CRJ airframe expertise and a strong background in inspections under FAR 145, 121, or 135—or in military environments—this role offers long-term stability and industry-respected experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed aircraft inspections in compliance with FAR 145, 121, 135, or equivalent military standards
  • Conduct inspections on commercial and/or military aircraft, with a focus on CRJ airframes
  • Apply knowledge of MRO and heavy maintenance operations to ensure quality and compliance
  • Use and interpret a wide range of precision measurement instruments and calibrated tooling
  • Read and interpret engineering documents, blueprints, and maintenance manuals
  • Evaluate tolerances and part specifications using specialized gauges and measurement devices
  • Understand the aircraft part fabrication process and support quality oversight of fabrication activities
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all inspections and findings
  • Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing, regarding maintenance actions
  • Participate in rotating 12-hour shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of inspection experience in aircraft maintenance under FAR 145, 121, 135, or military equivalent
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License required
  • CRJ airframe experience is required
  • MRO and heavy maintenance background required
  • Proven ability to use and interpret precision measuring tools and specialty inspection equipment
  • Must be able to pass vision and hearing tests
  • Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal)
  • Comfortable working 12-hour shifts with rotating schedules

Job Overview:

As an Aircraft Quality Inspector, you’ll be responsible for ensuring all maintenance activities comply with FAA regulations, engineering specifications, and internal quality standards. This is a safety-sensitive position that requires precision, technical skill, and a deep understanding of inspection protocols under FAR 145, 121, or 135.

Job Location & Type:

  • Location: Bridgeport, West Virginia
  • Employment Type: Full-Time, Contract or Contract-to-Direct
  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, day and night rotation, including weekends

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed inspections of aircraft and components under FAR 145, 121, or 135, or in accordance with military procedures
  • Conduct quality checks on CRJ airframe maintenance activities
  • Evaluate aircraft part fabrication processes and ensure compliance with documentation
  • Interpret engineering drawings and maintenance manuals
  • Use precision measurement tools and calibrated equipment to verify tolerances
  • Document maintenance actions accurately and clearly
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to uphold safety and operational standards
  • Pass hearing and vision tests as required for quality control roles

Required Qualifications:

  • FAA A&P License required
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in aircraft inspections
  • MRO or heavy maintenance experience required
  • CRJ airframe experience required
  • Strong working knowledge of aircraft fabrication processes, inspection tooling, and calibrated measuring instruments
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and engineering instructions
  • Proficient in verbal and written communication related to aircraft maintenance and compliance
  • Must be comfortable working rotating 12-hour shifts, including weekends and nights
