STS Technical Services is hiring an Aircraft Tooling Expeditor in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to support aircraft tooling, ground support equipment and maintenance operations.
This role is responsible for ensuring tools and equipment are serviceable, calibrated, properly tagged, accurately tracked in TRAX and available to support scheduled aircraft maintenance. The ideal candidate will have experience in tooling, materials, inventory control or aviation maintenance support and understand the importance of accuracy, accountability and readiness in a fast-paced MRO environment.
Position Overview
The Aircraft Tooling Expeditor manages aircraft tooling and ground support equipment across assigned maintenance locations. This position maintains strict tool accountability, oversees calibration and quarantine processes, coordinates vendor repairs and supports inventory control, audits and overall tooling readiness.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate tooling records in TRAX, including tool check-in and check-out transactions, binning, quarantine logging, repair orders and transfer orders
- Generate, review and act on calibration reports to ensure calibrated tools remain compliant and available for maintenance operations
- Create, process and track tooling requisitions and transfers while maintaining full traceability from request through fulfillment
- Conduct physical inspections of tooling to verify availability, serviceability, proper tagging, storage and accurate system status
- Manage quarantine processes, including defect review, repair order creation, vendor coordination and scrapping activities
- Coordinate receiving, inspection, shipment, repair and calibration activities with external vendors
- Review discrepancy reports and coordinate corrective actions
- Ensure required tooling is complete, serviceable and available for scheduled maintenance events
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment of tooling and equipment
- Lead onsite vendor repair and recertification activities
- Assist with the creation, tagging, cataloging and tracking of new tooling kits and special projects
- Maintain an organized, secure and audit-ready tooling room
- Support internal and external audits
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous experience as a Tool Crib Attendant, Stock Room Clerk or Materials Specialist
- Strong communication, organizational and project management skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to obtain and maintain a SIDA badge
- Valid travel documents with the ability to travel internationally as needed
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous aircraft tooling experience
- Experience as an airline Stock Clerk, Stock Attendant or Materials Specialist
- Automotive maintenance experience
- Associate degree or technical certification in Aviation Maintenance Technology, Logistics, Materials Management or a related field
- Previous airline or MRO experience supporting tooling, calibration, GSE or repair vendors
- Experience with tool control programs, calibration processes and vendor management
- Inventory control experience, including min/max stocking and kit management
- Experience with requisitions, transfers, quarantine processes and repair workflows
- Experience using TRAX or similar inventory management systems

- Packing equipment, scales and storage systems
Work Environment
- Airport, hangar and aircraft maintenance environments
- Indoor and outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- Exposure to elevated noise levels
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends and holidays
- On-call support responsibilities may be required
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, bending and lifting
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently
- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally
