Position Summary

STS Technical Services is seeking experienced JLTV A2 Production Support Technicians to support production operations by diagnosing, repairing, modifying, and upgrading defense light wheeled vehicles within a manufacturing or retrofit facility. This role works closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to ensure vehicles are built, reworked, and delivered to specification while maintaining safety, efficiency, and quality standards.

What You’ll Do:

  • Diagnose, repair, modify, and retrofit defense light wheeled vehicles in a production plant environment
  • Perform installation, removal, and rework of mechanical, electrical, and structural vehicle components per engineering specifications
  • Support production line operations, including troubleshooting build issues and resolving defects to maintain workflow
  • Coordinate with internal teams (production, quality, engineering, and materials) to ensure timely completion of retrofit activities
  • Interpret technical drawings, work instructions, and service manuals to execute assigned tasks accurately
  • Identify and escalate recurring issues, contributing to process improvements and corrective actions
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety standards, quality requirements, and production schedules
  • Support validation, inspection, and testing of retrofitted vehicles prior to release
  • Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including repairs, modifications, and parts usage

What You’ll Bring:

  • Prior experience working with JLTV A0/A1 platforms is a plus
  • Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical systems on defense vehicles
  • Experience working in a production, manufacturing, or heavy equipment environment preferred
  • Degree in vehicle service repair, heavy equipment, or diesel technology preferred; High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid Driver’s License

JLTV A2 Test Site Engineer (Travel Position)

STS Technical Services is hiring a Field Service Representative in Germany to support U.S. government and military customers working with Joint Light Tactical Vehicles (JLTV) and High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles (HMMWV).

This position requires extensive technical knowledge of JLTV and HMMWV platforms, hands-on automotive troubleshooting experience and the flexibility to support field service assignments in CONUS and OCONUS locations. Following the Germany assignment, contractors are expected to support an approximately 60-day assignment in Colorado.

Position Overview

The Field Service Representative serves as a subject matter expert for JLTV and HMMWV vehicles, tools, technical data and maintenance procedures.

This role supports Total Package Fielding, maintenance programs, quality inspections, warranty activities and customer support. The position may also assist Engineering with vehicle testing and support training programs at customer and field locations.

Instructor experience is a plus.

Location and Travel

Primary Location: Germany

Additional Assignment: Contractors are expected to support an approximately 60-day assignment in Colorado following the Germany assignment.

Travel: Domestic and international travel for extended periods is required.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for JLTV and HMMWV automotive systems

Position Overview

Responsibilities

This role is responsible for setting up and operating CNC equipment, loading programs, verifying cut quality, inspecting finished parts and maintaining production accuracy in accordance with engineering drawings, work orders and Quality Management System requirements.

Position Overview

The CNC Operator supports daily production by safely operating computer-numerically controlled cutting equipment used to produce precision metal components.

This position requires hands-on CNC experience, the ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T callouts, familiarity with G-code and a strong understanding of material handling, inspection, preventive maintenance and shop safety.

Machine Setup and Operation

  • Set up and operate CNC equipment according to daily work orders and router packages
  • Load and interpret CNC programs using G-code or machine-native formats
  • Make minor program edits as authorized
  • Select and install the correct consumables based on material type and thickness
  • Install tips, electrodes, shields and swirl rings as required
  • Set plasma cutting parameters, including amperage, cut speed, pierce delay and gas pressure
  • Nest parts using CAM or nesting software to maximize material utilization and reduce scrap
  • Perform test cuts before beginning full production runs
  • Verify dimensional accuracy before releasing parts for production

Quality and Inspection

  • Perform in-process inspections using calipers, squares and tape measures
  • Verify part dimensions against engineering requirements
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Interpret GD&T callouts and cut-to-size specifications
  • Identify, tag and segregate nonconforming material
  • Initiate nonconformance documentation when required
  • Maintain first-article documentation
  • Complete traveler sign-offs according to QMS procedures
  • Monitor cut quality, including dross, bevel angle, kerf width and surface condition

Material Handling

  • Stage plate, sheet and structural material at the machine
  • Use overhead cranes, forklifts or manual handling methods as required

Automotive Mechanical Technician

STS Technical Services is hiring Automotive Mechanical Technicians in Spartanburg, South Carolina. This role focuses on installing, troubleshooting, and validating mechanical systems within a manufacturing environment. If you can diagnose problems, work with precision, and keep builds moving without cutting corners, this is where you get to work.

Job Summary

The Mechanical Technician is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and operating specialized systems within vehicle assemblies. This role also supports team development by training assembly personnel and ensuring proper system usage during build and final inspection processes. Strong communication and teamwork are critical to success in this position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain safety awareness when working with high voltage, high pressure hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair products
  • Perform first-time installation of detail parts onto vehicles
  • Reinstall all removed components
  • Clean parts before and after installation
  • Conduct functional testing of assembled systems
  • Apply strong mechanical aptitude to support build and repair processes
  • Work independently to meet production schedules
  • Fabricate and rework parts safely for component assembly
  • Diagnose and repair low voltage control systems

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3 or more years of mechanical experience in an automotive manufacturing environment
  • Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ten or more years of mechanical experience in automotive or machinery applications
  • Experience using basic hand tools
  • Understanding of JD Edwards system
  • Electrical system programming knowledge
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs
  • Experience with general fabrication equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
