Technical Illustrator

STS Technical Services is hiring an Equipment Mechanic in Liberty, Missouri. This full-time, non-exempt position supports equipment repair, calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting within a manufacturing and production environment.

This opportunity is ideal for someone with hands-on experience working with hydraulic, electrical, gas and diesel systems. The Equipment Mechanic will complete basic repairs, install equipment accessories and help Assemblers strengthen their understanding of equipment diagnostics and maintenance.

Position Overview

The Equipment Mechanic, internally classified as Mechanic I, is responsible for completing basic equipment repairs, calibration and maintenance activities. This position also supports equipment diagnosis and troubleshooting while providing guidance and hands-on assistance to Assemblers.

The role requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail and the ability to follow written and verbal work instructions while maintaining established safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Complete equipment repairs and service requirements outlined in sales change orders
  • Install equipment accessories, including decals, mud flaps, cameras and lights
  • Perform basic equipment calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Assist with equipment diagnosis and repair activities
  • Guide and assist Assemblers in developing their troubleshooting and equipment maintenance knowledge
  • Follow verbal and written work instructions
  • Maintain attention to detail and comply with established quality standards
  • Apply basic knowledge of DC electricity and hydraulic systems
  • Read and understand basic electrical and hydraulic prints
  • Use multimeters, pressure testers, analyzers and other diagnostic tools
  • Use an iPad or laptop to document findings and enter information into company systems
  • Learn to operate a forklift as required
  • Help maintain inventory accuracy through data entry
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Follow company procedures, rules and safety regulations
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance
  • Work overtime and extended schedules as required
  • Perform other assigned duties and responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least one year of basic experience working with hydraulic, electrical, gas and diesel systems
  • Basic mechanical aptitude
  • Strong math skills
  • Basic understanding of DC electrical and hydraulic systems
  • Ability to read and understand basic prints and work instructions
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to use an iPad or laptop to enter information
  • Ability to use basic testing and diagnostic equipment
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime when needed, including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to maintain regular, reliable and on-site attendance

This position is based in a manufacturing or production environment. Employees may be exposed to loud noise, dust, moving machinery and temperature fluctuations.
