
STS Line Maintenance is hiring an A&P Line Station Manager in Kenner, Louisiana to lead our line maintenance station at MSY Airport.
This is a full-time aircraft maintenance leadership opportunity for an experienced A&P professional with strong line maintenance experience, proven management ability, excellent communication skills and the hands-on technical background needed to support daily station operations.
The A&P Line Station Manager will oversee maintenance activity, support technicians, coordinate staffing, manage station performance and ensure aircraft maintenance is performed safely, correctly and in accordance with company, customer and regulatory requirements.
Position Summary
We are seeking a qualified candidate to join the STS Line Maintenance management team and run our Line Station in the New Orleans area. This is a working station manager role, which means the selected candidate must be able to lead the team while also performing line maintenance functions as needed.
The ideal candidate will bring strong aircraft maintenance judgment, time management skills, problem-solving ability and the technical confidence to support air carrier requirements in a fast-paced airport environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage daily line station operations at MSY Airport
- Lead and support aircraft maintenance technicians assigned to the station
- Perform all line maintenance functions without supervision
- Read and understand company manuals, manufacturer manuals, General Maintenance Manuals and Aircraft Maintenance Manuals
- Ensure aircraft maintenance work is performed safely and in accordance with applicable policies and procedures
- Input and approve aircraft work orders in the computer system in accordance with all applicable policies
- Create employee work schedules to cover station air carrier requirements without building overtime into the schedule
- Complete quality, safety and maintenance-related documents for STS and air carriers as required
- Train and assist technicians with all aspects of their positions
- Support station qualification requirements through GENFAM completions and air carrier training
- Exercise good judgment in aircraft maintenance, safety and team leadership situations
- Maintain effective communication with employees, customers and internal leadership
- Support shift work and rotate between nights and days as required
- Work nights, weekends and holidays as needed
- Maintain a professional, organized and safety-focused station environment
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of line maintenance experience required
- Minimum of 3 years of management experience required
- Current and valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant License required
- Must be able to read, write and speak English
- Must be self-motivated
- Strong time management skills required
- Excellent communication and people skills required
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills required
- Ability to exercise good judgment in a team environment
- Ability to exercise good judgment in aircraft maintenance and safety matters
- Experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- KRONOS timekeeping system experience preferred
- Ability to read and understand company and manufacturer manuals, GMMs and AMMs
- Ability to qualify on various aircraft worked at the station through GENFAM completions and air carrier training
- Ability to perform all line maintenance functions without supervision
- Must own and provide a minimum set of hand tools
- Must be willing to work shift work and rotate between nights and days
- Must be able to input and approve aircraft work orders in the computer system
- Must be able to create work schedules for employees to cover station air carrier requirements
- Must be able to complete quality, safety and maintenance-related documentation as required
- Must be able to train and assist technicians as required
- Must have a clean motor vehicle record
- Must hold a valid driver license
- Must not be under a doctor’s care with limited work restrictions
- Must be able to pass a background check and obtain all necessary badging
- Must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to ascend and descend ladders, stairs and work stands unassisted
- Must be able to bend, kneel, crawl and stoop frequently in confined spaces
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
- Must be willing to work in an environment subject to changing climate conditions and moderate noise levels
Rate of Pay
Rate of pay is determined by previous experience.
Yearly raises are available upon evaluation.
