Position Summary

The Group Leader supports the Supervisor in managing daily departmental operations to ensure efficient, high-quality production. This position requires comprehensive knowledge of department processes, equipment, tools and workflow.

The Painter Group Lead helps guide team members, manage workflow, support scheduling and materials coordination, solve production issues, coach employees and maintain compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and demonstrate key departmental tasks with a high level of proficiency
  • Apply knowledge of standards, equipment, tools and workflow to identify and implement process improvements
  • Provide daily feedback, coaching and support to team members to enhance performance
  • Mentor and assist in training new employees
  • Monitor and adjust workflow to meet production schedules
  • Support and enforce production policies and procedures
  • Assign tasks and lead by example through hands-on work
  • Assist with inspections and ensure product quality before final release
  • Interact professionally with customers and customer representatives as needed
  • Communicate effectively across all organizational levels, including team members, management and HR
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Follow safety protocols and 6S standards

Minimum Qualifications

  • 6 months or more of experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime as needed, including evenings, weekends and holidays, to meet business and production demands
  • Ability to maintain regular and reliable attendance in person and on site
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

  • Associate degree or trade certificate related to the job function

Position Summary

The Painter applies paint and coatings to JLG products while following paint specifications, safety procedures and production requirements. This position requires hands-on painting experience, strong attention to detail, basic mechanical aptitude and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience in automotive, industrial, heavy equipment, manufacturing or body shop painting and be comfortable using spray equipment, preparing surfaces, mixing paint, performing touch-ups and inspecting finished work.

  • Apply primer, paint and touch-up coatings using spray equipment and brushes
  • Mask and unmask parts to meet specifications
  • Prepare surfaces by sanding, washing and conditioning
  • Perform light bodywork as needed
  • Disassemble, clean and maintain painting equipment, including pumps, heaters, tanks and guns
  • Flush tanks and lines during color changes
  • Mix paints for color accuracy, viscosity and consistency
  • Perform titrations and adjust chemicals as needed for paint and related processes
  • Apply decals, stencils and rust-proofing as required
  • Inspect work before, during and after painting to ensure quality standards are met
  • Perform mil and gloss checks as required
  • Transport parts and materials using tuggers, forklifts, overhead cranes or manual carts
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks as required

Minimum Qualifications

  • 6 or more months of painting experience in an automotive, industrial or heavy equipment setting
  • Strong math skills
  • Basic mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to wear a respirator
  • Ability to pass a Pulmonary Function Test
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime as needed, including evenings, weekends and holidays, to meet business and production demands
  • Ability to maintain regular and reliable attendance in person and on site
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

Position Overview

As a 2nd Shift Painter, you will be responsible for operating, adjusting, and maintaining powder painting equipment to achieve proper paint coverage. You’ll also perform manual paint application, part prep, equipment maintenance, and quality inspections. Key Responsibilities

  • Adjust powder paint equipment for optimal performance (air flow, powder flow, KV settings)
  • Troubleshoot equipment during runs to ensure painting specs are met
  • Clean and maintain powder paint and washer equipment (sieves, hoses, transfer blocks, guns, nozzles, filters)
  • Perform visual inspections throughout the paint process
  • Maintain titration and chemical balance logs
  • Conduct shot blast media removal and touch-up

  • Operate pneumatic tools and bridge cranes to prep and position components
  • Support cross-training initiatives and assist other departments as needed
