STS Technical Services is hiring a Quality Engineer to support a growing manufacturing client in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This position plays a key role in driving continuous improvement, ensuring compliance with quality systems, and enhancing customer satisfaction across all stages of production. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support quality improvement projects to reduce defects and improve product reliability.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for internal and external quality issues.
- Develop and maintain quality documentation including control plans, inspection instructions, and standard operating procedures.
- Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to ensure quality standards are met across the product lifecycle.
- Perform data analysis on quality metrics and present actionable findings to leadership.
- Support internal and external audits (including ISO 9001 and other relevant standards).
- Monitor and enhance supplier quality performance through audits and corrective actions.
- Train and mentor production teams on quality standards, tools, and best practices.
- Travel between three local sites within a 5-mile radius as needed.
Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing quality improvement role.
- Strong knowledge of quality tools such as APQP, FMEA, CTQ, SPC, 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, Pareto, and control charts.
- Experience with ISO 9001, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma methodologies preferred.
- Background in sheet metal fabrication, welding, paint, or electrical/mechanical assembly processes is a plus.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, Minitab, or similar) and familiarity with ERP systems such as Epicor and SharePoint.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Certification (CQE, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt) preferred.
- Fluent in English; Spanish proficiency is an advantage.
