STS Line Maintenance is hiring a Senior Manager – Line Maintenance Training for a remote position within the United States.

This full-time leadership opportunity is ideal for an experienced aviation maintenance training professional with deep Part 121 experience, an FAA Airframe & Powerplant Certificate, and a passion for developing training programs that support safety, compliance, and operational excellence.

As the Senior Manager – Line Maintenance Training, you will lead the strategy, development, implementation, and continuous improvement of training programs that support line maintenance operations across the STS Line Maintenance network.

Position Summary

The Senior Manager – Line Maintenance Training is responsible for overseeing aviation maintenance training programs that ensure technicians meet FAA regulatory requirements, customer-specific training standards, and company operational expectations.

This position provides strategic leadership for curriculum development, regulatory compliance, training documentation, instructor resources, and continuous improvement initiatives while partnering closely with station leadership, airline customers, and third-party training providers.

Responsibilities

Training Strategy & Program Development

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve aviation maintenance training programs
  • Create and maintain training manuals, curriculum, instructional materials, and supporting documentation
  • Maintain ownership of the Repair Station Training Manual while ensuring compliance with FAA regulations and company standards
  • Develop standardized training processes across the STS Line Maintenance network
  • Establish and manage relationships with third-party training providers
  • Integrate approved external training curricula into the STS training framework
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through measurable performance metrics
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance technician development and operational performance

Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • Ensure technician training records remain current and compliant using the company’s ERP system
  • Monitor recurrent training schedules and automated training notifications
  • Ensure required training is completed within established regulatory timelines
  • Maintain compliance with ATA Specification 104 requirements across multiple airline customers
  • Partner with station leadership to identify training deficiencies and implement corrective action plans
  • Support regulatory audits and maintain accurate training documentation

Station & Customer Support

  • Collaborate with Line Maintenance stations to determine technician training requirements based on operational scope
  • Support customer-specific maintenance training requirements across multiple airline programs
  • Interpret aircraft system changes, maintenance procedures, and technical documentation into effective training content
  • Develop specialized training programs supporting various aircraft platforms, engine configurations, and maintenance requirements
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for aviation maintenance training initiatives

Required Qualifications

  • Valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate
  • Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Aerospace Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience
  • Minimum of five years of experience as an aviation maintenance instructor within a Part 121 commercial aviation environment
  • Minimum of five years of experience developing, implementing, and managing aircraft maintenance training programs, curriculum, manuals, and supporting documentation
  • Minimum of five years delivering technical instruction to commercial aircraft maintenance personnel
  • Proven experience developing technical training content and instructional materials
  • Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Training Management Systems (TMS)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, organizational, and project management skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Airport Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 15%
