STS Aviation Services is hiring a B1 Licenced Engineer in Birmingham, United Kingdom. This role supports complex depot maintenance operations and requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and regulatory knowledge within a Part 145 environment.

If you are an experienced B1 Engineer with Boeing 737NG or P8 Poseidon type ratings and a background in depot-level inspections, this is an opportunity to take a leading role in a high-profile maintenance programme.

Position Overview

Working alongside Senior Engineers and Production Managers, you will supervise an experienced team of mechanical and structures technicians. You will oversee detailed inspections in accordance with PDAMs AMMs, FIMs, and SRMs to ensure the highest technical and regulatory standards are maintained.

This role requires strong technical leadership, oversight of task execution, and continuous communication with programme stakeholders to ensure efficient delivery of the depot maintenance schedule.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Conduct detailed inspections in accordance with Boeing aircraft manuals
Ensure knowledge and compliance with RA-4807 and RA-4806 requirements for certifying and support staff
Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and regulatory requirements
Track adherence to allocated task card hours for mechanical and structural maintenance and modifications
Identify discrepancies between planned and actual hours and analyse root causes
Escalate variations to line managers, planners, and programme stakeholders
Recommend process improvements to optimise efficiency and resource allocation
Support mechanical system testing, validation, and troubleshooting
Supervise and mentor junior mechanical and structures personnel
Act as a key point of contact for all mechanical and structural aspects of the programme
Provide regular progress updates to Senior Engineers and Line Managers, including escalation of technical issues

Skills and Experience

CAA or EASA Part 66 B1 Licence
Type rated on Boeing 737NG and P8 Poseidon
Previous P8 Poseidon authorisations
Minimum of 7 years aircraft experience
Previous depot maintenance experience
Inspection experience within depot maintenance environments
Excellent knowledge of aircraft systems
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Eligible to work and live in the United Kingdom
Subject to UK Security Vetting

Position Overview

The B1 Licensed Engineer will perform and certify aircraft maintenance activities within the scope of company approvals while supporting base maintenance operations at our Manchester facility. Key Duties & Responsibilities

Perform maintenance, repair, and overhaul of customer aircraft including scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks
Certify maintenance within the scope of company approvals and regulatory requirements
Provide leadership and supervision to aircraft mechanics and support staff
Lead by example to maintain high standards of aircraft maintenance execution
Ensure aircraft maintenance activities are completed efficiently and to customer satisfaction
Support strong technical dispatch reliability and on time aircraft performance

Required Aircraft Type Ratings

We are recruiting engineers with current UK CAA type ratings on the following aircraft:

UK CAA Part 66 B1 License required

Educational Background/Experience:

High School Diploma or GED
Airframe or Powerplant License
5 years’ experience in aircraft heavy maintenance or modification
5 years’ supervisory or lead experience in heavy maintenance or modifications
Working knowledge of FAA regulations pertaining to FAR Part 145 repair station operations

General Qualifications/Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSA):

Excellent verbal, written, computer, and presentation skills necessary to work effectively with a variety of individuals, departments and organizations.
Demonstrated proficiency in the operation of Microsoft Office Word and Excel, database software such as AvPro, or similar, email and other web-based applications

STS Aviation Services is seeking qualified Lead Aircraft Structure technicians, to join our overhaul and repair station in Melbourne, FL. These are direct full time positions, and are predominately working on the Airbus A320 and CRJ Aircraft.

Qualifications:

4 years minimum experience working as an Aircraft Sheet Metal technician, maintaining and repairing Commercial and/or large regional aircraft. Comparable military experience is acceptable.
2 years minimum experience, working as a Lead Aircraft Structures Technician or Supervisor
Valid A&P license is required
Must be willing and able to work whatever shift and schedule is required.
Must have the ability to obtain an airport license

Additional Considerations:

Must hold a valid Driver License.
Must not be under a doctor’s care with limited work restrictions.
Must be able to pass a back ground check and obtain all necessary badging.
Must be able to ascend/descend ladders, stairs and work stands unassisted.
Must be able to bend, kneel, crawl and stoop frequently in confined spaces.
