Position Summary

The Aircraft Power Plant Engineer supports continued airworthiness by helping ensure compliance with regulatory and company requirements. This position provides daily engineering support to customers and plays a key role in resolving aircraft powerplant maintenance, repair and operational issues.

Schedule and Work Arrangement

Job Responsibilities

  • Support aircraft line maintenance, heavy maintenance and modification of Airbus powerplants
  • Provide engineering assistance to Line Maintenance and MRO teams to support aircraft operations, repairs and maintenance
  • Coordinate with Original Equipment Manufacturers and Designated Engineering Representatives as required to facilitate approved powerplant repairs
  • Develop detailed work instructions and engineering drawings to accomplish minor and major powerplant repairs
  • Develop engineering orders to accomplish modifications and alterations
  • Provide Aircraft-On-Ground support for powerplant installations
  • Develop engineering procedures, standards and process specifications to comply with manufacturer and vendor Service Bulletins, Airworthiness Directives and other FAA requirements
  • Determine corrective actions or required investigations when trends indicate a deviation of engine parameters
  • Investigate and submit recommended troubleshooting actions to Maintenance and Quality Control
  • Support additional responsibilities as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university
  • Previous powerplant engineering experience within the aviation industry, with an emphasis on commercial airline support
  • Knowledge and understanding of Original Equipment Manufacturer and Type Certificate Holder technical manuals
  • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently
  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for up to 10 hours per day
  • Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word, at an intermediate level or higher
  • Able and willing to travel as required
  • High performer with a focus on both quality and quantity
  • Willingness to comply with Non-Disclosure Agreements and confidentiality policies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with LEAP-1A, V2500 and/or PW1000G aircraft engines
  • Experience with Honeywell 131-9 APUs
  • FAA Airframe and/or Powerplant licenses
  • Hands-on engine maintenance experience is a plus
  • Highly developed interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
  • Experience using data management applications
  • Experience using TRAX, AMOS, Microsoft SharePoint, Teams and OneDrive is highly preferred

Position Summary

The Senior Engineer will provide expedient engineering support to customers on a daily basis. Position Summary

The Aircraft Part Repair Analyst oversees the repair life cycle for company-owned material. In addition, the Aircraft Part Repair Analyst collects and analyses data to identify issues and business opportunities. Job Responsibilities

  • Engage with maintenance facilities and repair shops to generally manage contracts by confirming work scopes, reviewing invoices, and ensuring vendor punctuality and reliability
  • Follow up with maintenance facilities and repair vendors to resolve discrepancy issues
  • Coordinate warranty claims across the applicable fleet
  • Research aircraft component removals to determine the potential for a warranty claim
  • Maintain an inventory of unserviceable components until the completion of the warranty claim process
  • Develop and maintain positive and professional relationships with vendors
  • Engage in frequent conversations with vendor representatives and evaluate vendor performance accordingly
  • Issue and manage RFPs for aircraft maintenance and repair services
  • Ensure contract compliance for the life of each agreement
  • Review work scopes for each component to incorporate necessary Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, and Engineering Orders as directed by engineering specifications and/or engineering and reliability direction
  • Coordinate between OEMs, Maintenance Planning, Materials, and Engineering groups to ensure all material is available to schedule removals for service bulletins or fleet campaigns
  • Submit warranty claims on various unscheduled out-of-service aircraft events, scheduled removals driven by Engineering Orders, Service Bulletins, and commitment letters
  • Negotiate claims and settlements for labor and material costs with external suppliers when rework and replacements are not specifically covered by established warranty agreements
  • Maintain proficiency in a range of contractual supplier agreements that define warranty details and the specific process for submitting orders and warranty claims
  • Utilize Outlook for scheduling and coordinating events across the organization
  • Maintain familiarization with the training requirements necessary as defined in Section 100.03 Maintenance Training for Maintenance Organization Personnel and ensure training is current prior to performing the functions and tasks of this position
