STS Technical Services is hiring Aircraft Interior Upholstery Technicians in Grand Junction, Colorado to join a team supporting world-class business jet interiors. In this role, you will be responsible for the repair, refurbishment, fabrication, and reinstallation of upholstered components inside luxury aircraft cabins. Key Responsibilities:

Perform basic to advanced foam build-ups, patterning, and sewing of seat parts and other interior items
Remove and reinstall seats, panels, and interior soft goods
Disassemble, clean, repair, and modify interior components as needed
Complete daily turnover sheets and maintain detailed documentation
Maintain and repair shop tools, equipment, and facility areas
Follow FAA, OSHA, and company safety guidelines
Navigate electronic manuals, training platforms, and maintenance databases
Ensure a clean, organized, and professional work environment
Communicate effectively with team leaders, supervisors, and peers
Work independently or as part of a team depending on project scope
Support major modification projects as required

Qualifications:

2+ years of experience in aircraft interior upholstery preferred
Experience working on corporate jets, high-end RVs, or yacht interiors strongly considered
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver’s license and/or passport preferred but not required
Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
Ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and customer-oriented mindset
Basic computer literacy

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Routine standing, walking, bending, squatting, and sitting

Job Overview:

This hourly, non-exempt full-time position requires a thorough understanding of aircraft interiors in addition to an advanced knowledge of upholstered items found in aircraft interiors. Modifications, repair, refurbishment and reinstallation of interior components are primary functions. Ability to evaluate and adjust on modifications essential. Job duties will vary each day and are designated by the Upholstery Team Leader. May be required to work independently.

Responsibilities:

Able to perform major modifications to seats and related items as required.
Must possess a working familiarity with different seat styles typical to aircraft.
Work independently on projects when required.
Work independently when required.
Perform complete upholstery refurbishment of aircraft seats from start to finish. Such duties include inspection, disassembly and assembly, prep work, foam work, patterning, sewing and installation of dress covers.
Maintenance and repair of shop facility, equipment and tooling when required.
Cleanliness of shop and surroundings.
Assist with training to ensure job knowledge and performance of lesser-experienced employees.
Must be able to diagnose seat problems in and out of the aircraft and perform necessary corrective actions.
Must possess a thorough understanding of FAA flammability requirements for all materials used.
Must be able to complete all required paperwork per work order book.
Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

Job Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent.
3 – 5 years experience on aircraft upholstery.
Knowledge of materials and foams used in aviation.
Knowledge of repairs and techniques used on various seat styles.
1 – 2 years heavy modifications preferred.

Job Overview:

This position requires a basic knowledge and the ability to troubleshoot and repair problems to the component level on avionics units (i.e. Navs, Coms, Pulse, Radar, Audio and Autopilot Systems), as well as the aircraft systems.

Responsibilities:

Attend work every day as scheduled to include overtime and weekend assignments. Notify supervisor in advance of shift starting if unable to work.
Must have reliable transportation to get to work each and every day. Perform general avionics support items on aircraft. This shall include, but not be limited to items such as removal and installation of panels and components and repair work.
Troubleshooting and evaluation of systems on the aircraft when designated.
Inspection and evaluation of the aircraft and components when designated.
Aircraft movement and performance verification of systems.
Maintenance and repair of shop facility, equipment and tooling to support operations.
Work independently on projects.
Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

Job Requirements:

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Electrical tech school.
Avionics specific factory training.
A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal, but not required.

Experience:

3 – 5 years prior experience on aircraft maintenance.
2 years turbine aircraft experience.
FAA paperwork, work order and billing process experience.

Initiative:
