Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic

STS Line Maintenance is hiring A&P Mechanics in Boston, Massachusetts. This is a hands-on line maintenance role supporting Airbus aircraft operations in a fast-paced airport environment. Position Overview

The A&P Maintenance Technician supports the daily maintenance operations of airline customers while ensuring aircraft are maintained to the highest standards of safety, compliance, and performance.

This position works closely with the Station Manager, airlines, flight crews, and Maintenance Control to keep aircraft airworthy and on schedule.

Schedule

  • 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts
  • Typical shifts include:
    • 4:00 PM to 2:00 AM
    • 5:00 AM to 3:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs on transport category aircraft
  • Ensure all work meets FAA regulations, airworthiness directives, company policies, and best practices
  • Work in coordination with Station Managers, airlines, flight crews, and Maintenance Controllers
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Adjust, repair, or replace defective components using approved technical documentation
  • Utilize precision tools and test equipment to measure wear and determine serviceability
  • Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and records
  • Maintain high standards of quality, safety, and operational integrity
  • Perform additional duties as required to support operations
  • Work outdoors and in varying weather conditions

Aircraft Supported:

  • Airbus A319, A320, and A321

Qualifications

  • Must hold a current FAA Airframe & Powerplant License with no history of infractions
  • Must own a standard set of line maintenance tools (calibrated and specialty tooling provided)
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, climb ladders and stairs, and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to pass background check, drug and alcohol screening, and obtain Customs and Border Protection clearance
  • Basic to mid-level computer and organizational skills
  • Ability to read and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals and technical documentation
  • Strong troubleshooting ability across electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems
  • Flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong communication skills and commitment to quality and customer service

Position Overview

The A&P Mechanic supports aircraft line maintenance activities in a fast-paced operational environment. This position works closely with airline partners, flight crews, and maintenance control teams to ensure aircraft are maintained to the highest standards of safety, compliance, and reliability.

Job Responsibilities and Duties

  • Report directly to the Line Maintenance Station Manager and Station Leads
  • Work in close partnership with field airlines, flight crews, and Aircraft Maintenance Controllers
  • Ensure aircraft are maintained in accordance with applicable FAA regulations, airworthiness directives, company policies, and best practices
  • Inspect, test, troubleshoot, adjust, and repair transport category aircraft airframes and engines using hand tools and test equipment
  • Maintain the highest level of quality, safety, and integrity in all maintenance activities
  • Adjust, repair, or replace defective components based on analysis of test results while following maintenance manuals, schematics, handbooks, and technical documentation
  • Use precision instruments and equipment to measure parts for wear and determine repair or replacement needs
  • Perform additional duties as required to support operational needs
  • Work outdoors and in inclement weather conditions as required
  • Perform maintenance on Commercial and Large Regional aircraft, including but not limited to:
    • Boeing 737, 757, 767, 777
    • Airbus A320 family and A330
    • CRJ 700 and 900
    • ERJ 135 and 145
    • Embraer 170 and 190

Ideal Candidate Requirements and Qualifications

  • Current and valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification with no history of infractions
  • Recent A&P experience on turbine powered aircraft preferred
  • Previous experience working on Commercial and Large Regional aircraft desired but not required
  • Willingness to train candidates with a valid A&P license and strong desire to learn
  • Own set of standard line maintenance tools with calibrated and specialty tooling provided
  • Self motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to stand, climb ladders and stairs, and lift up to 50 pounds unassisted with or without accommodations
  • Ability to pass background check and drug and alcohol screening
  • Ability to obtain Customs and Border Protection clearance
  • Basic to mid level computer and organizational skills
  • Experience working under an FAA approved Part 145 repair station or Part 135 environment highly desired
  • Inspection Authorization license is a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals and specifications
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair aircraft airframe and engine systems including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems
  • Flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong customer focus, communication skills, and work ethic

Rate of Pay

  • $33 to $44 per hour based on experience
  • Bonus available based on candidate qualifications
