Job Overview:

As an Aircraft Quality Inspector, you’ll be responsible for ensuring all maintenance activities comply with FAA regulations, engineering specifications, and internal quality standards. This is a safety-sensitive position that requires precision, technical skill, and a deep understanding of inspection protocols under FAR 145, 121, or 135.

Job Location & Type:

  • Location: Bridgeport, West Virginia
  • Employment Type: Full-Time, Contract or Contract-to-Direct
  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, day and night rotation, including weekends

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed inspections of aircraft and components under FAR 145, 121, or 135, or in accordance with military procedures
  • Conduct quality checks on CRJ airframe maintenance activities
  • Evaluate aircraft part fabrication processes and ensure compliance with documentation
  • Interpret engineering drawings and maintenance manuals
  • Use precision measurement tools and calibrated equipment to verify tolerances
  • Document maintenance actions accurately and clearly
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to uphold safety and operational standards
  • Pass hearing and vision tests as required for quality control roles

Required Qualifications:

  • FAA A&P License required
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in aircraft inspections
  • MRO or heavy maintenance experience required
  • CRJ airframe experience required
  • Strong working knowledge of aircraft fabrication processes, inspection tooling, and calibrated measuring instruments
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and engineering instructions
  • Proficient in verbal and written communication related to aircraft maintenance and compliance
  • Must be comfortable working rotating 12-hour shifts, including weekends and nights

STS Technical Services is seeking a highly skilled Avionics Technician to join our team in Bridgeport, West Virginia. As an Avionics Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of aircraft by troubleshooting, repairing, inspecting, and performing maintenance on various aircraft systems. The ideal candidate will have prior experience with corporate jet aircraft, commercial aircraft, or military aircraft maintenance, including Depot/Isochronal/Phase inspections.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot & Repair: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair avionics systems, ensuring all aircraft maintenance actions are completed to industry standards.
  • Maintenance & Inspections: Perform regular maintenance and inspections on aircraft systems as required by regulations.
  • Documentation: Accurately document all work performed in compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Training: Demonstrate the ability to train other employees or contractors on aircraft maintenance tasks and procedures.
  • Adherence to Policies: Follow all general work rules and company policies and procedures applicable to the work area and job functions.

Job Requirements:

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience in avionics or substantiated equivalent experience.
  • Corporate jet or commercial aircraft experience preferred.
  • Military aircraft maintenance experience (Depot/Isochronal/Phase inspections) is a plus.

Certifications & Licenses:

  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) or Airframe (A) License preferred.
  • GROL (General Radiotelephone Operator License) or AET (Aircraft Electronics Technician) Certification is preferred.
  • Certification from an Avionics or Aircraft Electronics Technician school or equivalent military training is preferred.

Tools & Equipment:

  • Must possess a complete set of tools for avionics maintenance in a lockable toolbox. Tools must be etched with the contractor’s first and last name for identification purposes.

Communication Skills:

  • Must be able to effectively communicate aircraft maintenance actions verbally and in writing in English.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be comfortable with 12-hour shift work that includes days, nights, and weekends.
