STS Technical Services is hiring an experienced Aircraft Sheet Metal Mechanic to support a rapidly expanding Twin Otter restoration program based at St. Lucie County International Airport in Ft. Pierce, Florida. This is a hands-on opportunity involving full aircraft tear downs, complete restorations, and total rebuilds.
This operation is built around a small, tight-knit team that values professionalism, collaboration, and long-term growth. This is not a contractor-minded environment. The team is seeking a dedicated aviation professional who wants to become part of the organization and grow alongside the program.
All positions begin as open-ended contract roles, with a clear path to direct hire based on performance and program needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform complete aircraft tear downs, restorations, and rebuilds on Twin Otter aircraft
- Fabricate, repair, and install sheet metal components in accordance with approved data
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and structural repair manuals
- Perform precision drilling, riveting, forming, and fitting of aircraft structures
- Ensure all work complies with FAA regulations and company quality standards
- Maintain accurate documentation of completed work
- Collaborate closely with team members in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
Required Experience and Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of aircraft sheet metal experience
- Strong fabrication experience is required
- Prior MRO experience is preferred
- Experience working on complete aircraft restorations or heavy maintenance strongly desired
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned tasks
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
