Summary of Responsibilities

Safety and Compliance Activities

  • Perform all work activities in accordance with established laws, regulations, standards, safety protocols, and procedures to ensure safety of self and others.
  • Perform inventory cycle counts and regulatory compliance audits in accordance with requirements set forth by the FAA, EPA, DOT, and other civil aviation authorities.
  • Perform general cleaning activities to ensure area is clean and safe, and to ensure equipment, parts, or tools maintain good working order.
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and properly display badging when performing work activities, as required.

Warehousing and Distribution

  • Ensure proper binning, issuing, shipping, and receiving of aircraft parts, chemicals including IATA regulated dangerous goods, and other material used in support of global operations.
  • Operate motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment such as forklifts, platform stock pickers, pallet jacks, etc.
  • Ensure proper packaging and preservation of materials in accordance with requirements set forth by the FAA, EPA, DOT, and other civil aviation authorities.

Customer Service to Maintenance Business Partners

  • Support business partners in maintenance with world-class customer service.
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, a professional attitude, and excellent dependability.
  • Search for solutions to operational problems and make quality decisions.
  • Interact with a globally diverse group of colleagues.

Computer Skills and Accurate Data Entry

  • Requires strong computer skills and comfort with navigating multiple software applications such as Microsoft Office, SAP, Empower, HMM, Boeing Parts Page, Inventory Exchange, Fortigo, UPS WorldShip, FedEx Shipping, MRO Shortage Page, GEM/MIRS, and other airline-specific programs, as well as technology platforms such as RFID scanners.
  • Complete training to ensure compliance with regulations and company standards.
  • Keep up to date on technology and knowledge related to the job to broaden skills.

Transportation and Operational Understanding

  • Ensure delivery and retrieval of aircraft parts to airport gates and other maintenance locations.
  • High focus on supporting AOS/SOS aircraft.
  • Daily set-up of RON/RAD full kitting.
  • Utilize ground support equipment (GSE) or other motorized vehicles, including sprinter vans, service trucks, tow tractors, and box trucks near moving aircraft on the ground.
  • Perform work activities in various weather conditions, including rain, sleet, snow, and extreme heat/cold.

Work Planning and Coordination

  • Set daily goals to ensure all required work activities are completed in a timely manner.
  • Work together with teammates and leaders to accomplish work activities and meet shift goals.
  • Occasionally participate in meetings to receive or provide updates on assigned activities, transition tasks between shifts, and receive other work-related information and updates.

Job Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US.
  • Must have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must proficiently read, write, speak, and understand English.

Willingness Related to Schedule Requirements

  • Must be willing to work a fixed or rotating schedule, including nights, overnight, weekends, holidays, and extended hours/overtime when needed.
  • Must meet deadlines and manage unexpected changes in a time-sensitive and stressful environment.

Ability and Willingness Related to Physical and Environmental Demands

  • Must be willing to work in extreme environmental conditions, including extreme heat (over 100°F), extreme cold (below 32°F), rain, sleet, wind, and snow.

Job Summary:

Examines, repairs, assembles, and tests aircraft accessories, such as engines, power brake units, auxiliary electric motors, spark igniters, valves, pumps, fuselage, wings, and oil and fuel tanks, using hand tools and testing devices, and following shop orders and manufacturer’s specifications.

Position Summary:

Performs structural repairs and fabrication of parts.  Ability to perform repairs per aircraft SRM and/or engineering dispositions.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Follows approved repair/modification procedures for component or aircraft, consulting internal procedures that have been FAA approved, original equipment manufacturers (OEM’s) technical data, and work package instructions.
  • Positions and aligns subassemblies in jigs or fixtures, using measuring instruments, following blueprint lines and index points
  • Inspects completed work to identify any needed rework before signing off; ensures that repaired components meet prescribed standards and tolerances.
  • Performs serviceability tests on repairs using test equipment specified in technical manuals.
  • Completes work package documentation by signing/stamping off after finishing all designated operations.
  • Submits completed work to Quality Assurance for final/in progress inspection and recertification of airworthiness.
  • Bolts, screws, or rivets accessories to fasten, support, or hang components and subassemblies.
  • Cuts, trims, and files parts, and verifies fitting tolerances to prepare for installation.
  • Drills holes in structure and subassemblies, and attaches brackets, hinges, or clips to secure installation or to fasten subassemblies.
  • Inspects and tests installed units, parts, and equipment for fit, performance, and compliance with standards, using measuring instruments and test equipment.
  • Positions and aligns subassemblies in jigs or fixtures, using measuring instruments, following blueprint lines and index points.
  • Able to identify bolts, screws, rivets and various fasteners used to support or assemble components.
  • Installs units, parts, equipment, and components in structural assembly, according to blueprints and specifications, using hand tools and power tools.
  • Locates and marks reference points and holes for installation of parts and components, using jigs, templates, and measuring instruments.
  • Provide information and documentation for engineering requests.
  • Comply with repair station procedures (RSM /QCM) and company policies (SOP) when performing aircraft or component maintenance.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High School/ GED
  • A&P license preferred

Experience:

  • Prefer at least 5 years experience.
  • Experience doing aircraft structures as well as able to use all tech data and aircraft drawings to locate part numbers and accomplish repairs.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Must be able to fabricate parts.
  • Reads work orders, blueprints, and specifications or examines sample or damaged part or structure to determine repair or fabrication procedures and sequence of operations.
  • Repair body or structure of aircraft according to specifications.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Be proficient in the usage of air powered hand tools and related equipment.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Ability to work different shifts and flexible hours if required.
  • Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including, OSHA, EPA, State and Federal regulations.

  • Assignments require Standard Knowledge of a Technical Area.
  • Rapid learning and application of new information and concepts within the Technical Area begins to take place at this level.
