Position Overview
The Aircraft Painter is responsible for preparing aircraft surfaces and applying coatings in accordance with work instructions, safety requirements, and quality standards. This role works closely with crew leads and supervisors and includes on-the-job training to support skill development and advancement.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare aircraft surfaces by cleaning, scuffing, stripping, sanding, and masking
- Apply primer, basecoat, topcoat, and specialty coatings according to work orders and quality standards
- Follow detailed instructions provided by crew leads and supervisors
- Safely use respirators and required personal protective equipment
- Participate in on-the-job training to refine painting techniques and improve efficiency
- Collaborate with team members to meet project timelines and quality expectations
- Maintain a clean look, organized, and safe work area
Qualifications
- Experience in painting, coatings, or surface preparation preferred
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and quality requirements
- Comfortable working with PPE including respirators
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Willingness to learn and develop aircraft painting skills
