This is an on-site manufacturing support role built for someone who understands that material flow matters. Inventory has to be accurate. Parts have to move. Data has to be clean. Production cannot wait around while people try to figure out where something went.

The Materials Specialist I will support internal and external customers by helping manage material planning, receiving, stocking, delivery and shipment activities. This role also supports inventory control, data accuracy, material handling and process improvements throughout the facility.

Job Summary

The Materials Specialist I is responsible for supporting both internal and external customers by ensuring timely and accurate material planning, receiving, stocking, delivery and shipment. This role also involves operating material handling equipment and assisting with inventory control, data accuracy and process improvements to support material flow throughout the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate inventory through timely and precise data entry.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and system issues.
  • Identify and correct receiving problems.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory stock levels.
  • Support engineering changes through allocation and inventory adjustments, including CN maintenance.
  • Collaborate daily with internal and external customers to deliver exceptional service.
  • Assist with corporate material initiatives such as cycle counts, Inventory Stock Location management, bin consumption tracking and related activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Computer literate with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime as needed, including evenings, weekends and holidays, to meet business and production demands.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance, in person and on site.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble parts, wires, hoses and hydraulics using power tools and manual techniques.
  • Install product accessories such as decals, mud flaps, cameras and lights.
  • Safely operate an overhead crane to position parts.
  • Use hand and pneumatic tools, including wrenches, hammers and torque guns, with accuracy.
  • Measure accurately using tools such as tape measures.
  • Drill and tap holes for wires, hoses and small components.
  • Identify required options from schematics, blueprints and Standard Work Instructions.
  • Lift and stack subassemblies and parts, up to 35 lbs solo and team lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Cross-train and work in multiple assembly areas as needed.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions precisely.
  • Maintain attention to detail to meet quality standards.
  • Keep a clean, safe work area in compliance with safety rules and 6S standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Produce components by assembling parts and subassemblies
  • Assemble parts, wires, hoses, and hydraulics onto trucks utilizing power equipment and wrenching techniques
  • Drill holes for wires, hoses, and small parts
  • Operate a torch, plasma cutter, or grinder to cut and shape parts
  • Position parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements

  • Lift and stack completed subassemblies and parts up to 40 lbs and team lift up to 80 lbs
  • Train and work in various areas of assembly in response to production demands
  • Follow verbal and written work instructions
