STS Technical Services is hiring experienced A&P Mechanics in Georgetown, South Carolina to perform inspection, repair, and modification services on aircraft to ensure safe and reliable operations. This is a hands-on opportunity for skilled technicians who take pride in precision, quality, and professionalism.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform aircraft repairs, maintenance, and modifications in accordance with FAA regulations, Repair Station manuals, and manufacturer instructions with minimal supervision
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain aircraft mechanical systems, powerplants, and airframes to airworthiness standards (piston and turbine engines)
  • Read and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, airworthiness directives, and engineering drawings to determine proper repair methods
  • Perform structural repairs on metal and composite aircraft per approved technical data, engineering drawings, or AC 43.13 guidelines
  • Use hand tools, sheet metal tools, precision instruments, and calibrated equipment safely and effectively
  • Conduct line maintenance to keep aircraft in optimal and airworthy condition
  • Operate ground support equipment including tugs, power carts, and forklifts as needed

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong understanding of aircraft mechanical systems, airframe structures, powerplants, propellers, and electrical systems
  • Familiar with aircraft track and balance procedures
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications
  • Capable of performing sheet metal and composite repairs
  • Proficient in the use of OEM maintenance manuals and aircraft records
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Demonstrated sound judgment and adherence to FAA safety standards

Experience & Requirements

  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate required
  • Minimum of 5 years of aircraft mechanic experience; rotorcraft and GA experience preferred
  • Must successfully complete background check and drug screening requirements
  • Ability to walk, stand, climb ladders, and work in varying environments throughout the day
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and handle tools and parts safely
  • Strong visual acuity and color perception for precision work
  • Basic set of hand tools required to perform assigned duties
  • Inspection Authorization (IA) License preferred

Avionics Technician

  • Perform installation and troubleshooting of aircraft electrical and avionics systems, including control, power, video, RF cables, and electrical harnesses
  • Conduct aircraft electrical and avionics system testing, including continuity, power, and operational checks using a variety of test equipment
  • Perform FAA-mandated IFR 91.411 and 91.413 inspections and checks
  • Use basic hand tools and avionics specialty tools to troubleshoot and repair aircraft systems
  • Provide flight line support and perform system tests as required
  • Read, interpret, and support development of electrical fabrication and installation drawings
  • Interface with equipment manufacturers and material suppliers to resolve technical issues
  • Maintain accurate records of all work performed

Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial aviation electrical and avionics systems
  • High school diploma required; two-year technical degree or AS in Avionics preferred
  • FCC General Radiotelephone Operator’s License (PG) desired
  • A&P License preferred but not required
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Must have normal or corrected 20/20 vision and normal color perception
  • Proficient in interpreting electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Knowledgeable in the use of pitot/static, com, nav, transponder, and TCAS test equipment
  • Competent with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% as needed
  • Must successfully complete background check and drug screening requirements
  • Must have a basic set of hand tools required to perform assigned duties
