Job Purpose

The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for ensuring that Purchasing and Stores functions operate in accordance with regulatory requirements, company procedures, and industry best practices to support timely engine maintenance and delivery.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure the overall development plan for all team members within the Supply Chain function
  • Monitor and review team performance in line with company policies and procedures
  • Manage absence and timekeeping, working with HR to address issues promptly
  • Manage the Approved Supplier List in conjunction with Safety and Compliance, ensuring required audits are completed
  • Maximise supplier terms to support cash flow performance
  • Ensure all purchased materials meet airworthiness and certification requirements
  • Optimise inventory levels to balance availability, cost, and customer service levels
  • Support procurement of consumables, tooling, and services as required
  • Oversee receipt, inspection, storage, and issuing of parts and tooling
  • Ensure parts are stored in accordance with regulatory and OEM requirements, including segregation, shelf life, and environmental controls
  • Manage inventory systems, ensuring accurate processing and validation through regular stock checks
  • Oversee quarantine and unserviceable material areas
  • Ensure customer-owned property is correctly stored and managed
  • Coordinate domestic and international shipments in compliance with aviation, import and export, and dangerous goods regulations
  • Ensure compliance with Incoterms, customs regulations, and trade requirements
  • Liaise with internal departments to support safe and timely engine maintenance
  • Work with Safety and Compliance to resolve audit findings

Performance Measures

  • Material availability and on-time supply to the workshop
  • Inventory accuracy and stock discrepancies
  • Inventory turnover and carrying costs
  • Supplier on-time delivery and quality performance
  • Audit findings related to Supply Chain functions

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of five years of management experience within aviation or an MRO environment
  • Strong understanding of Part 145 regulations
  • Working knowledge of Safety Management Systems (SMS)
  • Strong leadership and team management capability
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Your Role & Responsibilities

  • Perform engine maintenance, repair, and overhaul tasks within the workshop in compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
  • Support the efficient turnaround of engine shop inputs, ensuring customer expectations and company objectives are met
  • Follow approved technical documentation (ESM, CMM, SRM, IPC) to carry out all maintenance tasks to the highest standard
  • Assist with near-wing and on-wing field support, as required
  • Adhere to company Health & Safety policies, fostering a safe and compliant work environment
  • Maintain accuracy and efficiency in all tasks to reduce turnaround times while upholding quality
  • Identify technical issues, propose solutions, and implement corrective actions
  • Work collaboratively with team leaders, workshop managers, and cross-functional teams to meet operational goals

Skills & Experience Required

  • Time-served aerospace industry apprenticeship with a minimum of two years’ post-apprenticeship experience
  • Previous company approval on at least one of the engine types listed above
  • Hands-on experience in a busy engine shop, working on engine maintenance, repair, and overhaul
  • Familiarity with engine shop manuals and regulatory standards, including relevant ATA chapters
  • Understanding of Part 145 and FAA regulations
  • Strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Borescope inspection experience is desirable
  • Current Human Factors training, EWIS Level 1 & 2, and Fuel Tank Safety Level 1 & 2 preferred (training can be provided)
  • Forklift license is desirable (training can be arranged)
