Job Purpose

The Stores Operative will assist in the day-to-day operations of a busy Stores department while providing a proactive and efficient service. The role requires a flexible approach, strong attention to detail, and the ability to multitask while supporting aircraft engine maintenance operations.

Main Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assist in the day-to-day running of Stores
  • Pick and issue parts and consumables
  • Book tooling in and out, with attention to calibrated items
  • Ensure correct material handling and storage conditions are maintained in line with regulatory standards and Company procedures
  • Control the shelf-life expiry list
  • Perform periodic stock checks
  • Process unserviceable parts into stock or scrap
  • Control and dispose of waste products in line with Company and environmental requirements
  • Accept and offload deliveries
  • Dispatch parts for return, repair or transfer to suppliers or customers
  • Assist with the loading or offloading of aircraft engines and stands, if required
  • Keep a clean and tidy working environment
  • Maintain an awareness and consideration of Human Factors
  • Complete other tasks as defined by management

Additional Responsibilities as a Receiving Inspector

  • Perform physical inspection of parts
  • Validate accompanying paperwork in line with regulatory standards and Company procedures
  • Receive parts into inventory
  • Maintain knowledge of regulatory requirements regarding the acceptance of engine parts
  • Maintain awareness of Suspected Unapproved Parts controls and guidance

Skills & Experience

  • Computer literate
  • Training will be provided on the company computer system where needed
  • Good organisational and communication skills
  • Full clean UK driving licence required
  • Previous experience working in a busy aviation stores department would be desirable
  • Experience with goods inwards processes or inspections in an aviation stores environment would be desirable
  • Forklift licence would be desirable
  • Forklift training will be provided where needed

Job Overview

The Engine Mechanic / Approved Technician will be part of the workshop team responsible for maintenance and repair activities while liaising with Team Leaders and the Workshop Manager to meet daily operational demands.

This role is key to ensuring workshop activity is completed in line with customer requirements, industry standards and regulatory expectations. There will also be occasional requirements to work away from base in the field, either near-wing or on-wing.

Applicants must have previous company approval for at least one of the engine types listed above.

Main Responsibilities and Duties

  • Work on various maintenance and repair workscopes as part of day-to-day workshop operations
  • Support effective turnaround of engine shop inputs while meeting company objectives
  • Work with the wider team to ensure all tasks are completed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Meet and maintain the standards set by the business and regulatory authorities
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with the relevant manuals
  • Conduct all tasks in a timely and accurate manner to help keep turnaround times to a minimum
  • Promote a safe working environment and culture that supports efficient maintenance practices
  • Assist with the implementation of company directives and strategies that support continued business growth
  • Contribute to and co-operate with all staff members to meet performance targets and goals
  • Maintain expected quality standards
  • Adhere to the company’s Health and Safety and Security Policies at all times
  • Maintain proper standards of integrity, conduct and concern for the interests of the company and its customers
  • Comply with Human Factors requirements at all times

Skills and Experience

  • Time-served aerospace industry apprentice with a minimum of 2 years’ experience post-apprenticeship
  • Previous experience working in a busy engine shop on the engine types listed above
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Knowledge of engine shop manuals and associated manuals, including relevant ATA chapters
  • Awareness of Part 145 and FAA regulations
  • Previously held company approval on at least one of the engine types listed above
  • Borescope Inspection experience is desirable
  • Current Human Factors training, EWIS Level 1 and 2 and Fuel Tank Safety Level 1 and 2 would be an advantage, but training can be provided
  • Must be flexible and willing to move between work areas within STS Engine Services as required
  • Must be able to follow Technical Instructions from ESM, CMM, SRM, IPC and other relevant technical documentation
  • Must be a team player
  • Must be able to identify problems, undertake corrective action or propose alternative methods and systems to improve output, improve quality or overcome functional issues
  • Forklift licence is desirable, but training can be provided

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Technical Service Engineer to join our team in Stansted.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the maintenance and repair of commercial aircraft engines, ensuring all work is completed in line with customer requirements, OEM guidance and regulatory standards.

This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments to support safe, compliant and efficient service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Support

  • Liaise with engine OEMs to resolve technical issues.
  • Raise and manage technical support requests, including CSC cases, Technical Variances or equivalent.
  • Collaborate with OEMs to interpret deviation requests or repair schemes and provide feedback to the workshop for implementation.
  • Address and resolve technical queries from shop floor technicians to support smooth and efficient engine maintenance and repair operations.

Workscope Development

  • Assist the planning department and create work instructions in line with work requests for engines undergoing maintenance or repair.
  • Ensure customer requirements, including LLP replacement, repairs or engine overhaul, are met accurately.
  • Assist the commercial department with the acceptance and quoting of new workscopes.
  • Identify tooling, material and man-hour requirements.

OEM Documentation Management

  • Conduct regular and thorough reviews of OEM documentation, including updates to engine manuals, newly released Airworthiness Directives and Service Bulletins.
  • Ensure all necessary resources and tools are in place for the workshop to implement documentation changes effectively.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Work closely with all departments, including Safety and Compliance, Workshop and Customer Services.
  • Support seamless coordination and execution of technical services across the business.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Contribute to the development of best practices and procedures.

Skills & Requirements

  • Relevant engineering degree or EASA Part 66 maintenance licence.
  • Extensive knowledge of aircraft engine maintenance, repair and overhaul processes.
  • Familiarity with OEM documentation, manuals and Service Bulletins.
  • Understanding of Part 145 regulation and Part CAMO.

Key Responsibilities

Training Delivery:

  • Develop and deliver structured training programmes for apprentices and the wider business, combining theoretical and practical instruction
  • Deliver on-the-job training aligned with individual learning needs and operational requirements
  • Design, deliver, and maintain company training programmes including Continuation Training, Human Factors, Form 1 Training, and bespoke modules

Curriculum Development:
