STS Technical Services is hiring A&P Mechanics in Waco, Texas to join a full-service MRO supporting a variety of aircraft maintenance and modification programs. In this role, you’ll work directly under the Director of Maintenance, performing critical maintenance and repair tasks on commercial and regional aircraft while ensuring full compliance with FAA and company standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and alteration tasks on aircraft and components per current technical data and FAA regulations.
  • Follow manufacturer’s manuals, service bulletins, airworthiness directives, and company procedures to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Identify required parts and components using Illustrated Parts Catalogs (IPC).
  • Document all work performed accurately and sign off in accordance with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Tag, identify, and store removed components for proper reinstallation.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Return all signed-out tools and equipment to Stores before end of shift.
  • Adhere to all company safety procedures and operate equipment only when authorized.
  • Participate in FAA/DOT drug and alcohol testing, including random testing as required.
  • Support Aircraft Leads and Maintenance Supervisors with daily operations to ensure maintenance is completed safely and on schedule.

Requirements

  • Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate or Repairman Certificate under FAR Part 65.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an MRO or aircraft maintenance environment.
  • Heavy maintenance experience on commercial or regional aircraft preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with Boeing and Airbus aircraft a strong plus.
  • Strong working knowledge of aircraft systems, maintenance procedures, and FAA compliance.
  • Ability to interpret technical data and work effectively within maintenance teams.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Aircraft Structures Technician Job in Melbourne, Florida STS Aviation Services

STS Technical Services is hiring an Aircraft Structures Technician (Licensed) in Waco, Texas.

This role is ideal for experienced sheet metal professionals who take pride in precision, craftsmanship, and safety. You’ll perform structural maintenance and repairs on a variety of fixed-wing aircraft, ensuring compliance with FAA regulations and maintaining the highest standards of airworthiness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform aircraft structural maintenance, repair, and modification on components such as skins, frames, floor beams, and fittings.
  • Fabricate, assemble, and install sheet metal parts and assemblies using proper materials, layout techniques, and equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical manuals to determine accurate repair methods and sequences.
  • Select appropriate materials, including aluminum, steel, stainless steel, plastics, and fiberglass, per manufacturer and FAA standards.
  • Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, dividers, and rulers to mark and develop patterns for repair or fabrication.
  • Document all work performed, including logbook entries, removal logs, and part routing tags, to ensure traceability and compliance.
  • Perform inspections to verify quality, functionality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area while supporting facility maintenance as needed.
  • Participate in the FAA/DOT drug and alcohol testing program as required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Valid Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate or Repairman Certificate under FAR Part 65 required.
  • 10–15 years of aircraft structural repair experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of aircraft materials, structures, and repair procedures.
  • Skilled in the use of rivet guns, drills, and sheet metal forming tools.
  • Hands-on experience with Boeing (737, 747, 767) and/or Airbus (A330, A340) platforms preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of FAA regulations, repair manuals, and quality assurance standards.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English (Spanish a plus).
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Position Summary

STS Technical Services is seeking experienced Aircraft Composite Technicians to support aircraft maintenance and repair operations in Waco, Texas. This role supports composite fabrication, structural repair, and assembly work within an FAA-regulated aerospace maintenance environment.

You will work closely with Aircraft Leads, Maintenance Supervisors, and the Director of Maintenance to ensure all composite work is completed in accordance with approved technical data, customer requirements, and FAA regulations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Comply with FAA, DOT, FAR, DFARs, and applicable CFR Part 14 requirements
  • Participate in and successfully complete FAA and DOT drug and alcohol testing programs, including random testing
  • Research and interpret technical data, maintenance manuals, engineering drawings, and work instructions
  • Fabricate composite aircraft parts, accessories, and trim components using approved methods and procedures
  • Cut fiberglass, Kevlar, and graphite materials using templates, blueprints, and appropriate tools
  • Label materials and prepare composite kits for laminating processes
  • Perform vacuum bagging operations including setup of bleeder cloths, probes, thermocouples, and vacuum connections
  • Verify vacuum integrity and perform leak checks prior to curing
  • Trim, drill, deburr, grind, sand, and finish cured composite parts to specification
  • Pre-fit and assemble composite components into assemblies and subassemblies using jigs, fixtures, and fasteners
  • Perform cold and hot metal bonding as required

Qualifications

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Experience performing composite fabrication and repair in an aerospace environment
  • Familiarity with FAA-regulated maintenance practices
  • A&P Certification preferred but not required
