STS Technical Services is hiring a Human Resources Coordinator in York, Pennsylvania. This is a 6-month contract role supporting day-to-day HR operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The HR Coordinator will focus on temporary workforce onboarding, new hire orientation, workforce management, scheduling coordination, temp-to-full-time conversion tracking, performance documentation and HR administrative support. This role works closely with HR, supervisors and Talent Acquisition to help ensure a smooth, organized and compliant employee experience from onboarding through potential conversion to full-time status.

Position Summary

The Human Resources Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting HR operations for a high-volume, shift-based workforce. This position is ideal for someone with HR, staffing or workforce coordination experience who is organized, detail-oriented and comfortable working with hourly employees, supervisors, staffing agencies and internal leadership.

This is a hands-on role with both office and production floor interaction, requiring strong communication skills, accurate recordkeeping and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a manufacturing plant setting.

Temporary Employee Onboarding and Agency Coordination

  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to coordinate onboarding for temporary employees
  • Track temporary employee start dates, assignments and hours worked toward conversion thresholds
  • Serve as a point of contact for temporary employees during onboarding and throughout the assignment lifecycle
  • Coordinate with staffing agencies and internal teams to support timely onboarding and workforce readiness

New Hire Orientation

  • Coordinate and facilitate weekly new hire orientation sessions
  • Prepare onboarding materials, schedules and training resources
  • Ensure completion of required documentation, including policy acknowledgements and system entry
  • Partner with supervisors to ensure a smooth handoff to the production floor
  • Support a consistent and professional onboarding experience for new employees

Workforce Management and Scheduling Support

  • Maintain and update workforce rosters, shift assignments and headcount tracking
  • Support workforce scheduling processes in collaboration with operations and supervisors
  • Monitor attendance, timekeeping and schedule adherence using Dayforce or similar systems
  • Assist in identifying staffing gaps
  • Escalate workforce risks to HR leadership as needed

Temp-to-Full-Time Conversion Tracking

  • Monitor temporary employees’ hours and eligibility for conversion, including 480-hour thresholds where applicable
  • Maintain accurate conversion trackers and dashboards
  • Coordinate the conversion process with HR, Talent Acquisition and supervisors
  • Ensure timely processing of conversions to meet operational needs
  • Support conversion meetings as needed

Performance Management Support

  • Assist supervisors with tracking temporary employee performance, attendance and disciplinary actions
  • Support preparation for performance reviews and employee status updates
  • Help track trends, including attendance, turnover and discipline, to support workforce decisions
  • Maintain accurate records related to employee performance and workforce status

HR Operations and Administrative Support

  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems
  • Assist with reporting and dashboards, including headcount, hiring, attrition and conversion data
  • Support audits related to training compliance, onboarding documentation and related HR records
  • Assist with employee communications, including bulletin boards, huddles and announcements
  • Support general HR administrative activity as needed

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred
  • 1 to 3 years of HR, staffing or workforce coordination experience required
  • Experience in a high-volume or manufacturing environment strongly preferred
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including tracking, data entry and basic reporting
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to engage effectively with hourly employees and leadership
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with staffing agencies and temporary workforce programs
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems, including Dayforce or similar platforms
  • Experience supporting scheduling or workforce planning
  • Knowledge of basic employment law and HR compliance practices

This position is critical to creating a strong candidate experience. The HR Talent Acquisition Coordinator will support recruiting workflows, coordinate with internal stakeholders, manage sensitive candidate information and assist with recruiting and hiring needs across the organization.

Position Overview

The HR Talent Acquisition Coordinator will work closely with internal recruiters, team members and business partners to support recruitment activity from start to finish. This position requires strong organization, professionalism, confidentiality and the ability to manage recruiting processes in a way that keeps candidates informed and hiring teams supported.

This role may also serve as an additional recruiter when needed. Some remote work may be available, but candidates should be flexible and willing to support on-site needs as required.
