STS Technical Services is hiring an Apprentice Maintenance Planner in Ypsilanti, Michigan.

Position Summary

STS Technical Services is seeking an Apprentice Maintenance Planner to support a Part 121 cargo airline operation in Ypsilanti, Michigan. This entry-level role is designed for individuals looking to build a career in aircraft maintenance planning by learning how to monitor, schedule, and coordinate maintenance activities in a regulated aviation environment.

You will work within the AMOS system and alongside experienced planners to support maintenance scheduling, reporting, and documentation. This is a hands-on learning role that builds the foundation for long-term growth in aviation maintenance planning.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing work scopes, work packages, and work orders for scheduled maintenance checks
  • Support research of maintenance task history and documentation
  • Assist in maintaining materials lists, including parts and tooling pre-draw requirements
  • Monitor aircraft utilization data including flight hours, flight cycles, and schedules as directed
  • Track time remaining on scheduled maintenance tasks, including time-controlled components
  • Assist in producing hard time and life limit reports for aircraft, engines, and components
  • Maintain AD and SB documentation libraries and assist with manual updates
  • Support auditing of maintenance work packages for accuracy and compliance
  • Assist in updating maintenance planning forecasts, reports, and logs
  • Create reports and documentation using Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Maintenance Planning leadership

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • General knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Good communication skills and ability to work within a team environment
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and grow in aviation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience or coursework in aviation maintenance
  • General knowledge of large aircraft systems and structures including Boeing 747, 767, or 777
  • Familiarity with aircraft maintenance manuals such as AMM, CMM, IPC, and MPD
  • Experience interpreting Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, or Engineering Orders
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification or equivalent military experience

Reporting Structure

  • Reports directly to the Maintenance Planning Manager or Supervisor

Position Summary

STS Technical Services is seeking a highly organized and detail-driven Records Specialist to support a fast-paced Maintenance QC Records team in Ypsilanti, Michigan. This role is critical to maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of aircraft maintenance documentation within a regulated MRO environment.

The ideal candidate thrives in high-volume workflows, manages multiple priorities with precision, and understands the importance of clean, audit-ready records. You will work closely with maintenance teams and internal departments to ensure all documentation is processed accurately and aligned with FAA requirements.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform high-volume data entry into AMOS, generating system entries to reflect maintenance actions and correcting discrepancies as needed
  • Audit physical and digital maintenance records using Microsoft Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and internal systems to ensure compliance with FAA regulations and company standards
  • Maintain professional communication with mechanics, maintenance stations, and internal teams via email and internal platforms
  • Monitor incoming maintenance documentation and verify completeness and accuracy against work performed
  • Retrieve and provide maintenance records to support internal teams and audit requests
  • Ensure proper digital archiving and secure handling of all documentation in accordance with retention policies
  • Support internal and external audits by maintaining accurate and accessible records
  • Assist with continuous improvement efforts related to documentation processes
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by QC Records leadership

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in office administration or a similar role
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with shifting priorities
  • Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Experience with AMOS or similar MRO systems preferred
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a high level of data entry accuracy
  • Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with maintenance personnel and cross-functional teams
  • Prior experience in aviation maintenance, technical records, or FAA documentation preferred
  • High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or higher preferred

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, and understand English
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and climb stairs as needed
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds when required
