STS Technical Services is hiring Aircraft Mechanics in East Alton, Illinois to perform high-level inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and system adjustments on corporate aircraft. This is a hands-on position for experienced A&P licensed professionals who take pride in precision maintenance and quality workmanship. Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general to complex maintenance tasks on aircraft and related systems
  • Install, remove, and repair components, panels, and sheet metal structures
  • Disassemble and inspect engines, parts, and systems for non-conformities
  • Rebuild or replace aircraft structures, including wings, fuselage, and hydraulic systems
  • Assemble electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and structural accessories
  • Conduct system servicing including crankcase flushing, brake checks, and greasing
  • Test engine and system operations using specialized equipment and sound detection
  • Interpret technical manuals, engineering drawings, and repair specifications
  • Align, calibrate, and adjust systems with hand tools and gauges
  • Support maintenance of shop tools, facility, and equipment
  • Work independently and provide support to less experienced technicians as needed

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Associate degree in Aviation Technology preferred
  • FAA A&P License required
  • Minimum of 1 year of current experience in corporate or military aircraft maintenance
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications
  • Familiarity with aviation software platforms (Corridor preferred)
  • Valid driver’s license required; passport preferred
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening and comply with FAA-mandated drug and alcohol program
  • Strong attention to quality, safety, and detail
  • Must be reliable, self-motivated, and comfortable working in fast-paced settings
  • Willingness to work overtime and flexible shifts based on aircraft schedules

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Routine walking, standing, bending, squatting, sitting, and stooping
  • Repetitive arm and hand movements required for manual tasks
  • Work in hangar environments with wide temperature variation

STS Technical Services is hiring experienced Aircraft Mechanics in Moline, Illinois. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be responsible for inspecting, testing, adjusting, repairing, and maintaining airframe and engine systems to keep aircraft safe and airworthy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections, servicing, and repairs of a complex nature on various aircraft systems and components
  • Troubleshoot and function test using manufacturer’s technical documents across multiple airframe, engine, and component systems
  • Lead aircraft projects as directed by the Crew Chief and Supervisor
  • Prepare and complete required maintenance and modification documentation in accordance with FAA Airworthiness Regulations, Elliott Aviation Policies and Processes, FAA Approved Repair Station and Quality Control Manuals, and OJT logs
  • Locate and use appropriate technical data to accomplish tasks efficiently and correctly
  • Support, maintain, and comply with all Federal, OSHA, State, and local regulations as well as Elliott Aviation’s Environmental, Health, and Safety Policies and Processes
  • Perform related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Ability to attain and retain AOA badge or Airport requirements
  • FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) preferred
  • Must obtain and retain designation as an Elliott Aviation Production Inspector (Blue stamp)
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Thorough knowledge of FARs 43, 65, 91, 135, and 145
  • Aircraft maintenance experience preferred

Position Summary:

STS Technical Services is seeking a highly skilled Avionics Technician to join our team in Bridgeport, West Virginia. As an Avionics Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of aircraft by troubleshooting, repairing, inspecting, and performing maintenance on various aircraft systems. The ideal candidate will have prior experience with corporate jet aircraft, commercial aircraft, or military aircraft maintenance, including Depot/Isochronal/Phase inspections.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot & Repair: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair avionics systems, ensuring all aircraft maintenance actions are completed to industry standards.
  • Maintenance & Inspections: Perform regular maintenance and inspections on aircraft systems as required by regulations.
  • Documentation: Accurately document all work performed in compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Training: Demonstrate the ability to train other employees or contractors on aircraft maintenance tasks and procedures.
  • Adherence to Policies: Follow all general work rules and company policies and procedures applicable to the work area and job functions.

Job Requirements:

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience in avionics or substantiated equivalent experience.
  • Corporate jet or commercial aircraft experience preferred.
  • Military aircraft maintenance experience (Depot/Isochronal/Phase inspections) is a plus.

Certifications & Licenses:

  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) or Airframe (A) License preferred.
  • GROL (General Radiotelephone Operator License) or AET (Aircraft Electronics Technician) Certification is preferred.
  • Certification from an Avionics or Aircraft Electronics Technician school or equivalent military training is preferred.

Tools & Equipment:

  • Must possess a complete set of tools for avionics maintenance in a lockable toolbox. Tools must be etched with the contractor’s first and last name for identification purposes.

Communication Skills:

  • Must be able to effectively communicate aircraft maintenance actions verbally and in writing in English.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be comfortable with 12-hour shift work that includes days, nights, and weekends.
