STS Technical Services is hiring experienced Aircraft Painters to join our team in Kinston, North Carolina. This opportunity is ideal for skilled painters with at least 2+ years of experience working on corporate or business jets. Only weekend shift opportunities are currently available.

Hiring Note: Candidates who do not have aircraft experience will not be considered.

Job Summary

As an Aircraft Painter, you will be responsible for performing high-quality surface preparation and painting work on various aircraft components. Candidates must be able to follow all technical instructions, safety guidelines, and quality assurance standards related to aviation coatings.

Job Location

  • Kinston, North Carolina
  • Weekend Shift Only: Thursday – Monday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM EST

Position Responsibilities

  • Prepare aircraft surfaces for painting by sanding, masking, stripping, or chemical cleaning
  • Apply primers, topcoats, and decorative finishes using approved equipment and techniques
  • Inspect surfaces before and after painting to ensure compliance with internal standards and customer requirements
  • Mix paints and coatings according to specifications
  • Maintain clean and safe work areas in accordance with OSHA and company standards
  • Follow technical data sheets, manuals, and work instructions precisely
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors on progress and issues

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience painting corporate or business jet aircraft
  • Proven experience in applying aircraft primers and topcoats with a high degree of finish quality
  • Familiarity with aviation paint systems, tools, and safety practices
  • Ability to read and interpret paint instructions and engineering drawings
  • Comfortable working with minimal supervision in a team environment
  • Must be able to pass background checks and drug screening

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as sanding, masking, and painting
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
  • Comfortable working in an aircraft hangar environment that may include exposure to fumes, noise, and fluctuating temperatures

STS Technical Services is hiring Aircraft Painters in Melbourne, Florida.

Position Overview:

The Aircraft Painter is in charge of aircraft and its sub assemblies painting and sealing process including surface preparation, masking, and chemicals handling.  May include limited duties of paint and sealant application.

Job Duties:

  • Prepare surfaces to be painted or sealed as requested by the working instructions using abrasives, solvents, and brushes.
  • Installs masking for strips or other aircraft painting detail.
  • May perform sealant application assuring compliance with technical and quality requirements.
  • May assist with application or installation of logos, symbols, or designs on painted surfaces, according to blueprint specifications, using measuring instruments, stencils, and patterns.
  • Ensures the use of appropriate technical references and tools in performing paint and sealing duties.
  • Perform cleaning and maintenance of all currently used painting or sealing equipment.
  • Sets up ladders, and scaffolding according to regulations and aircraft requirement.
  • Ensures all Federal and local environmental and OSHA/TOSHA regulations are complied with.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Generally 1-3 years of related and recent experience in aeronautical environment.
  • High School or GED familiar
  • Knowledge of preparation and painting of aircraft, support equipment, and allied components.
  • Safety procedures for Chemicals handling.
  • Knowledge of blueprints and painting diagrams.
  • Strong ability on paint spraying
  • Understand technical management and quality assurance procedures.
  • Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including, OSHA, EPA, State, and Federal regulations.
  • Must be able to be respirator qualified.

Position Overview:

We are looking for 4–6 skilled Aircraft Painters who take pride in their craft and are ready to jump into a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment. Candidates must be experienced in painting corporate aircraft and capable of performing the full paint process, including prep, masking, base coat, final coat, and finishing.

Job Duties:

  • Perform all phases of the aircraft paint process from surface preparation to final finish
  • Work with primers, topcoats, and specialty finishes as required
  • Ensure proper masking, taping, and sanding techniques are followed
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment
  • Execute layout tasks for striping and complex designs (if applicable)

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience painting corporate aircraft is required
  • Must be comfortable with full-cycle paint work from prep to final application
  • Experience with layout and striping is highly desirable
  • Ability to read and follow technical documents, drawings, and specifications
  • Willingness to work in a collaborative team setting with high attention to detail
  • Layout experience (e.g., striping, complex designs) is highly desirable and will be considered favorably.
