Position Overview

The Quality Engineer requires strong organizational skills, computer proficiency, and effective communication. This role supports advanced quality planning for CNC machining in an AS9100-certified environment.

You will help develop and maintain quality plans that drive product excellence, on-time delivery, and cost efficiency, with a focus on aerospace standards, measurement system analysis, statistical process control, and continuous improvement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Manufacturing Quality Engineering

  • Develop, document, and optimize manufacturing quality control plans for CNC machining (milling, turning, multi-axis) processes.
  • Create and maintain quality process flow diagrams, PFMEAs, and control plans that include inspection gage plans, quality work instructions, and floor inspection reports.
  • Select appropriate gages, inspection/CMM fixtures, inspection frequencies, and quality control strategies.
  • Support new production parts with advanced quality planning, measurement system analysis, first article inspections, and production qualification using statistical analytics.
  • Provide hands-on shop floor support to resolve manufacturing and quality issues.

AS9100 and Quality Compliance

  • Ensure all manufacturing processes comply with AS9100, customer, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support First Article Inspection (FAI) per AS9102 requirements and Production Part Approval Processes (PPAP).
  • Participate in internal and external audits and support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Assist with root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions for nonconformances.
  • Maintain process documentation and change control per quality system requirements.

Continuous Improvement and Cost Reduction

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and scrap reduction.
  • Lead or participate in Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen initiatives.
  • Analyze manufacturing data to improve quality, efficiency, and throughput.
  • Support standardization and best practices across machining operations.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Work closely with management, manufacturing engineers, production leads, supervisors, purchasing, and scheduling planners.
  • Interface with customers, suppliers, and internal teams on technical manufacturing matters.
  • Support vendors and subcontractors as required.

Skills and Competencies

  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality management systems and associated industry standards

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of AS9100 quality systems, NADCAP, and customer-specific requirements
  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification preferred
  • Familiarity with ERP and MES systems

Technology and Equipment

  • Experience with CMM programming and inspection (PC-DMIS, Calypso, or similar)
  • Understanding of Gage R&R, bias, linearity, and stability studies
  • Experience in statistical process control using Minitab, QDAS, or similar software
  • Proficiency with manual and automated measurement tools including calipers, micrometers, height gages, optical comparators, and surface roughness testers

IT Infrastructure, Security & Operations

  • Direct IT infrastructure operations including networks, servers, cloud platforms, endpoints, backup, disaster recovery, and cybersecurity
  • Ensure system availability, business continuity, and incident response readiness
  • Establish security standards, access controls, and compliance practices appropriate for a manufacturing environment

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to adopt and adapt to the GPC culture
  • 10 plus years of progressive IT experience with at least 5 years in a senior IT leadership role
  • Strong background in ERP ecosystems, systems integration, cloud platforms, cybersecurity, and enterprise architecture
  • Proven people leader with experience managing both application teams and IT infrastructure operations, including teams of 20 or more
  • Exceptional program management capability across complex, cross functional portfolios
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, or operationally complex environments strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to influence executive leadership and drive organizational change

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field required
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • PMP, SAFe, ITIL, or similar certifications preferred

As a result of expansion, our client is seeking a talented and motivated Design Automation Engineer to join their growing engineering team. This role is ideal for an individual who thrives at the intersection of design and technology — someone who loves building efficient, automated solutions that make engineering workflows faster, smarter, and more reliable.

Position Overview

The Design Automation Engineer will develop, maintain, and optimize automated design processes using SolidWorks, DriveWorks, and PDM systems. The ideal candidate will pair strong CAD skills with a passion for automation, data management, and continuous improvement in product development workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain 3D CAD models, assemblies, and drawings that meet engineering and manufacturing standards
  • Support new product development and existing product modifications
  • Develop and maintain automation rules, templates, and configurators within DriveWorks to streamline repetitive design tasks
  • Collaborate with engineers and sales teams to build product configurators that enable rapid customization
  • Manage engineering data and documentation through SolidWorks PDM
  • Ensure compliance with version control, workflow approvals, and data integrity standards
  • Provide user support, training, and troubleshooting for PDM-related issues
  • Identify opportunities to automate workflows and reduce design cycle times
  • Develop best practices, standards, and documentation for CAD and automation processes
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and IT to align design automation with business needs

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks (Certified SolidWorks Professional [CSWP] or higher preferred)
  • Hands-on experience with DriveWorks (DriveWorks Solo/Pro is a plus)
  • Strong knowledge of SolidWorks PDM administration and workflows
  • Familiarity with design for manufacturability (DFM) and product lifecycle management (PLM) principles
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment
