JLTV A2 Test Site Engineer (Travel Position)

STS Technical Services is hiring a Test Site Engineer in Yuma, Arizona. This role provides onsite technical support for vehicle testing on the JLTV Family of Vehicles. The Test Site Engineer will co-lead Field Service Representatives in supporting units through training, diagnostics, troubleshooting and maintenance to help ensure vehicles remain fully mission capable at each test site.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Test Engineer to provide onsite technical support for vehicle testing on the JLTV Family of Vehicles. This position supports field testing operations by working directly with Field Service Representatives and unit personnel to diagnose issues, complete inspections, support maintenance activities and help meet JLTV contract testing requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to Field Service Representatives and co-lead efforts in supporting units with training, diagnostics and maintenance
  • Conduct technical inspections, Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services and diagnostics of mechanical and electrical faults
  • Perform repairs to worn or damaged components, including implementation of Engineering Change Proposals
  • Support corrective action maintenance to ensure vehicles meet 10/20 standards
  • Participate in Performance Testing and Reliability Qualification Testing as part of JLTV contract requirements

Qualifications

  • Experience in vehicle testing, particularly with the JLTV Family of Vehicles
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
  • Proficiency in diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults and performing repairs
  • Knowledge of PMCS and technical manual instructions
  • Ability to co-lead and provide guidance to Field Service Representatives in various testing environments
  • Familiarity with implementing Engineering Change Proposals and ensuring compliance with testing standards
  • Active Secret Clearance required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with first article requirements and performance testing

This role supports continuous improvement by identifying risks, analyzing data, and implementing solutions that protect quality and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop sampling procedures and create forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data
  • Establish programs to evaluate the precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing systems
  • Support validation of measurement and analytical equipment and facility capabilities
  • Analyze product and process data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities
  • Assist in developing and delivering training related to quality control activities
  • Support quality initiatives across areas including design, incoming materials, process control, product evaluation, reliability, inventory control, metrology, automated testing, software, research and development, and administrative functions

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with a collaborative, team-focused mindset
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and reports
  • Experience with engineering-related software applications including CAD

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required
  • Two to four years of relevant experience required
